Importing doesn't work

I've tried to import several skins, it never works. I know the exact path, so I have tried that and it doesn't show up on the skin. Then I've just tried importing the unit then assigning the skin to it, but this doesn't work either. It always retains it's normal looking skin. What is wrong?

I did restart. No, it's not for a campaign. I'm trying to import a skin recolor for the Ancient of Lore I did right now, but I've tried to import various other skins before.

I'm sorry to say this but all these threads about imports not working are kind of depressing, importing things is not complicated at all. All you do is import your model(s) and skin(s), check the skins path in a program such as the wc3viewer, change the skin's path to that and save.
