Simple question : How can I make Impaled units vulnerable while on air?

Additional question : What unit/item/hero ability is a damage block? O.O

Elune's Grace and Defend can block and deflect ranged attacks as well as blocking spelldamage.
Hardened Skin can entirely block damage from both melee/ranged attacks.
Spell Damage Reduction (from Runed Bracers) can reduce % magic damage.
