Me, I would rage and insult blizzard, demanding a new system to make starcraft II standalone. Afterward, I would get my account banned just when I bought those three part expansions.

SC2 will use battlenet 2.0 which is like xbox live / steam. Basically it handles your D3, your WoW and your SC2 and all the achievements from them. You will have to be logged into to them to earn achievements and you will have to be logged in to play online (duh). Your installation CDkey will be ignored when logging into battlenet 2.0 and instead your blizzard account's attached SC2 key will be used meaning you can easilly come to a friends place and play with your account on a second computer even if they installed SC2 from their CDkey on it (this is the LAN work around).

You will probably be limited to one account with pay to change name and as such cheaters will be easier to spot (can not multi account). I would perfer it if names were not pay to change or you could create multiple player IDs for battlenet (even though they all link to your same blizzard account) just so I do not feel tied down.

Heh but what if someone made an account with your name? Because even if it all starts from your Bnet 2.0 account aka email, you still type your appear in bnet under a nickname. So can you change the internal name, the account with which you appear in Bnet unlimited times?

I believe that the username will be the display name. So, if a cheater wants to cheat in bnet 2.0, he will have to buy multiple copies of SC2, which won't be good for his pocket. Also, this will make everyone NOT make many accounts, and the databases will be clear.

Also, i hope that Wc3 is gonna use Bnet 2.0 on the near future, so that we can play Wc3 as well.

Overhauling WC3 to battlenet 2.0 is not worth it for them thus will not happen for a while. It is not a quick fix like making a old map compatible with the newer versions of WC3.
