I managed to break down replays...

Map plays normally with no issues, but the replays despite showing the gold/lumber changes they do not display any units other than the initial units. They do not "fight" I just hear the dying sounds but nothing is displayed...

Anyone had such a problem before?

Game state such as?
Anything that alters the outcome of the game.

Switching on/off triggers?
Yes. Also unit properties like health, creating a handle, unit positions, resource amounts etc.

Does replay store any checks of running triggers/funcs etc?
No it does not. During a replay the game expects the map to behave exactly like it did when the replay was first created using the map or the replay might not sync.
