Me and my friends are starting building a RPG.
We already invested some hours for building ... triggering and so on BUT NOW i found the treat with "THE ULTIMATE TERRAINING MAP" and found out that it makes my job (terrain) much much easyer.

THE PROBLEM :
i dont want to waste all the work we already did. But im unable to copy the whole map into the new one too gain all the new dodads ... or import all the new dodads into the new map instant ... i mean without importing every model and creat a new doodad ...insert the model ... bla bla bla.... for about 4000 models it would take a damn long time i guess ^^

Is anyone able to tell me how to solve my problem ? Plz help a new Mapper (=

Well, export all models from your first map into a folder to a specific directory of your choice. Then, open Ultimate Terraining Map and in the Import Manager, File - Import Files > Select your folder. Every custom doodad you have within your first map, do the same in the object editor, so that you have the same data in the Object Editors. Go to "Terrain Palette". Start dragging your mouse from the very top left of the map until you clearly select it all. Press Ctrl+C and go to UTM, pressing Ctrl+V. Your terrain is pasted. Make sure that the maps have the same sizes! (e.g. 256x256). Go back to your map and select the Doodad Palette now. Start again dragging till the right corner of your map, so that you have every doodad selected. Copy, go to UTM and paste them. The same goes to units (if any). Just remember to make both maps have the same size, import models from your map (if any) and make the same data in the Object Editor conerning the doodad objects.

Yeah I wouldnt suggest using UTM to create a large RPG type game because it is so full of extra files your final map will probably lag or at least be unable to play on Bnet if that matters to you.

Your best bet would be to find the doodads in UTM that you really like and import only the necessary stuff to place them in the map you already made.

HOW AM I ABLE TO CHANGE THE TASK TO "SOLVED"^^

Thx for your fast response ...
I dont want to export all files i know the map limit would be reached very fast but my problem is that i need 200 doodads and to extract every single doodad abd creat a new dodat and overwrite the art model of the picked doodad with the new extracted model is a borring work ^^

I hove no choice i guess ^^ THX HWS-Comunity
