How to create Bridge movement?

Hi all.

I have this bridge:

And I would like to know how I can make it functional the best as possible.
do I have to make pathing blockers at the side and make the units that are going to walk over it fly?
Or is there some trick that I can functionally change the height of the terrain but visually make it still be way down?

Rectangular, invisible 'helper' surfaces in my model help the unit walk over the cliff edge.
That is what I need.
I already know how to make pathing maps but prefer to have a few pathing blockers with size of 1x1 and all possible pathing combinations so I can give everything the perfect pathing without making a pathing map for every single object
