Yes, as far back as 2003(?) I believe Ralle had a simple free forum set up god knows where. That was the original home of what would eventually become The Hive Workshop.

In late 2004 Ralle established a real website, called the War Hive, which was essentially a place for fans of Warhammer 40K TD (You know, that map he made), the map developers, and the 40K Clan on Northrend.

By the time I started lurking in late 2005, Ralle was already looking for a new domain, changing from War Hive and settling on the Hive Workshop, with the intention of hosting resources.

So, the 40K Clan was disbanded, development on the TD halted, and slowly we morphed into what you see here today.

The reason why wc3sear.ch is "dead" is because the quota of the website was over breached. The actual quota was 500 megabytes and the sites size was 7 gigabytes.
Since the webmaster Darky29 could not afford anymore webspace, I contacted VGsatomi (head administrator) and we set up a way for me to import the websites resources and forum posts to my site.
Since then, I am doing my best to live up to wc3sear.ch's quality and user comfort.

"Some" is an understatement. That which wasn't lost got deleted by touchy moderators for not meeting their standards (like a faulty portrait on a great model).

yeah sadly cause i saw alot of awsome model submision on that old forum or site or what ever... but i allways wonder why you didnt change the forum style? (Night elf leaves) well it those looks good.. but meeh .. will let you answer back

We DID change the forum style, in fact we had about a dozen of our own. But since we had thousands of wc3sear.ch noobs complaining their faces off about this new environment, Ralle gave in (weakling) and changed the site to reflect that of Sear's.

I believe he has been gone for a long time now, and even when wc3sear was still a separate site to hive I think he had been inactive from a long time.

Darky went inactive late 2004 and only popped by to do stuff irregurarely. He became a World of Warcraft addict.
