Would be nice if MakeMeHost bothered to show the map name or file name of the games it is hosting. Some people name their games nonsense so from a usability point of view it is impossible to tell what map it is. People do not join random maps unless they have some idea about the map, and game names often give you no idea.

MakeMeHost is the only way to find multiplayer WC3 games due to all the robots flooding the server list and not advertising in WC3 how many human players are in a session. MakeMeHost shows the complete lobby list of all robot games (no one hosts using WC3 anymore) and the number of real human players in them allowing you to know what games are stupid duds and which you might get a real session from.

This is very good news right?
Why yes, of course! This connects Hive to the online community more. By doing so, we'll at least get some increase of support for our resources more from players. It also gives Hive a nice reputation that we have the many quality and popular maps.

Hmm, good idea. I do join random name games, but I see what you mean.

What's this about? I mean what's the role of that site?

DSG is mostly right, MMH is the only website that shows the majority of maps on battle.net and also has those nice features. However, ENTGaming.net has their own list for ENT hosted games only with a few added features. Also, it's not all games shown, but the high majority of public ones since there are still quite a few independent clan bots not affiliated with MMH.

Why doesn't hive host their own hostbot with access to all the maps?
Make it controlable via hivechat.
Or would even one game be too resource intensive?

One host bot for so many players simply won't work. And if we we are to make the Hive into an online hosting site by having a bunch of bots (donated keys), that kind of takes some of the purpose of the partnership away.

We we're thinking that Hive could have one partner bot to spotlight maps (scroll down this list for active partner bots: makemehost.com/games.php), but that hasn't been planned yet. Maybe :)

A spotlight bot is a cool idea. This bot should host every day a new map of the list. So everybody of the mappers get host its map.
A new box on the top of the site should display the current hosted game.

there aren't many people in the hive chat. also one hosting at max 3 games isn't turning hive into a hosting site. being on hive it would be a bot to quickly test your map.

just some thoughts, don't want to talk anybody into anything, but if you want this i can definitely help.

Perhaps it'd be a good idea to post a site discussion thread about your idea. I'm thinking more would be in favor of a spotlight bot, but your suggestions aren't totally out of the conversation.
