Ralle I have a question we saw Hive themed after the 3 most famous Blizzard games Diablo, WarCraft and StarCraft will we see one after Hearthstone and HotS, maybe even lost Vikings and some other of the old school Blizzard games?
 
Just finnished reading through the whole Sneak Peek thread and I wanna express my gratitude to Ralle and Archian for doing all this work!
It really looks like the new site is going to be even more amazing than the current one, both in beauty and functionality!

Also I didn't see it mentioned there so i would like to suggest something:

So many times I read posts which make me think "Yeah, shit thats so true, I completely agree!", but I don't wanna make a post saying just that and not always would I feel he/she deserves a +rep, but I would like to let the user and others who read it know that I agree, and it could be fun to see how many others who feel the same.

So I would just love it if there was a small little button attached to the post telling him/her you agree with what he/she said in that particular post.....an "I agree" button, kinda like the "Thumbs up" i guess, but more specific, and if possible it would be nice to be able to open up a list to see all the people who "agreed" with that statement :)

And some stuff i agree on:
The mark text to quote function seems very convenient, hope you will be implementing that, seems like you liked it too ;)
I would also love the signature size to be a little more adjustable, and i agree that it would be cool to have a level system implemented in the rep system, important to not lose the possibility to add a comment to your rep though.

And a possibly stupid request, if it's not possible you are free to call me dumb, but i think it would be nice if it was possible to resize animated avatar images from almost any size to the size which fits the border, meaning you could take a huge animated image and without losing the animation make it as your avatar (150x150 would be nice to have imo)

Last, but not least I think the new icons and UI in general looks really really nice, I wouldn't care if it looks somewhat similar to blizzards afterall this is a modding site for blizzard games is it not? :)

Edit: Also idk if this is already possible, but it would be cool if, in a thread, it would be possible to "View posts by <user>"

At some point we will have that quote thing, but it will not be a priority until the new site is actually up and running. I don't want to pile on features for me to make which will continue delaying the release.
I suppose displaying the amount of rep a single post has could sort of make the feature about who agrees.
Avatars will stay a fixed size. Else the files themselves will become incredibly big. Imagine a 400x400 animated GIF.
 
When we switch over to the new rep system will rep already gathered be transfered or will everyone start from scratch?

Yeah, it was already mentioned that everything will be transferred to the new site..... mentioned several times in the thread if I remember.

On my end, I'd prefer delaying further if it meant we have all the functionalities of vBulletin and more when we do transfer.

I've suggested a few times that people should keep a fraction of their current reputation, but that advice was associated with a whole proposal for the reputation system altogether.

See, this is what I mean when I say I'm afraid of loss of features with the transition. I'm not sure if I ever found that, I think I vaguely remember seeing that window once. However, if anyone asked me whether it was possible to count user posts in a thread, then I'd say it was impossible. Until I saw that image.

Once again, my doubt is whether all vB's features are accounted for and will carry over to Hive 2. I know social groups will not, but I could bet these small things are unnoticed.

I understand :)

Showing the amount of rep a single post has gathered seems like a very nice thing to have, but will you be lowering the amount of rep you have to spread out before you can rep the same person again though? I very often agree alot with one or two persons, and don't like to give out rep for nothing just so i can give a rep to someone i feel deserve it :P

Avatars stay a fixed size, does that mean you can not use an image if it's just slightly bigger than the limit set for an avatar?
I mean, i think it resizes it a little now if the image you try to upload is not too massive right?
Not sure if it does that for animated GIFs though, dunno if it's even possible without losing the animation, would be nice if it was possible, imo atleast hehe i love GIFs^^

Btw will you make it possible to save custom made emoticons for easy access? Maybe it's already possible, i haven't really tried to do it myself :P

Rui, there are social group addons for XenForo which come with their own importer. So Social groups will be imported and continue to exist.
Rep will be imported and work more or less like it always have.
Rui, I cannot guarantee that every single vBulletin feature is imported into XenForo, but we can always make that feature ourselves if it turns out to be essential.
My main focus is to get every piece of data into XenForo in a similar system. I was referring to the cool blizzard quote system when I said I did not want to pile on features that we don't have currently either.

All content will be imported.
 
I bet it's not on his "My top 1 important stuff" - list. Hive at its current state is just fine, Hive 2 is not that important.

The screenies was posted by Archian years ago.

I forgot the forum but it has some screenies about what the resource section looks like, specifically the Models(which shows the resources of Tarrasque).

And also those download buttons in the resources came from the development of Hive 2

Correct me if im wrong :D
