Hello,
I am trying to give footmen "Elune's grace" (passive that reduces piercing damage and spell damage). But in order to enable the ability, you first need to research "defend" upgrade from barracks.
Without the upgrade the ability is "greyed out" as if it's not active. But the unit is still taking reduced damage, as if the upgrade had been completed.
If I research "Defend", the ability is no longer "greyed out", but the unit takes the exact same amount of damage.
