ah i think i know why, you need the textures, without textures you can only see the shadow.Import the model and the textures into the map, save it,close the editor and open the map again.

 still only shadow i dont know what i am doing wrong :( i opened warcraft III viewer then selected a texture imported it as JPG then i opened Photoshop changed it a little saved it and imported it in the warcraft viewer again then i changed it as .blp then created a model then imported the 2 files in warcraft Import Manager then changed the model and tested the map seed only shadow then i restarted world editor tested it again and BANG only shadow please help!!!

well let me join this group of people who hate that damn shadow!
Confusing part is that this is not my first model. I made few models before this one and
I would always import ONLY mdx file and the model would work with no problems.
But this one... It is a simple model, I didn't even edit the exisitng textures, I tried everything: importing every potential texture, more models, different paths... and still nothing. Works awesome in magos.

I always change the path...
Is the full path the one where you found the model in mpq?
e.g. Bandit Mage: Units\Creeps\BanditMage\BanditMage.blp
Is it supposed to look like this?

uuuuggghhh... still nothing.... I really appreciate the help guys, but this is so new to me... so many ideas wasted if I don't figure this out. I'll keep trying. Everything.

I think I have a solution to this problem, and it has nothing to do with textures... it does in a way, but problem aren't the imported textures. Problem are the textures in your model, the ones that your model uses (or doesn't). Open your textures manager and erase Replacable ID 0 if it is still there. That was my problem!
Thanks to General Frank :)

Where is this "Texture Editor" you speak of? I'm havin' the same problem with models I imported from a different map! It's gotten to the point where im 'bout insane!!

I always change the path to Units\Creeps\...\... .blp

texture paths depend on each model... normally custom textures are set to the path FileName.blp and for in-game textures, you can use Magos or any mpq browser to look for them...

and if you edited any texture be sure you know the right way to edit textures, coz you cant just go on exporting them doing simple recolor... (at least based on my experience... ^^)

@the guy above: texture editor is on Magos not on the WE...
