Haunted Gardens of Dalaran

  • Tileset: Dalaran
  • Size: 148x148
  • Players: FFA, 6vs6, 2 player teams
  • Approach: If you are playing FFA, you will quickly get to the point where you search new maps, because there are only so few 12 player maps in the mappool. This map has a unique design, encouraging players to come up with new strategies.

UPDATE:
I noticed that the map had wrong settings enforcing it to always stay on the current patch even if Blizzard implements balance patches at one point (LOL).
So if you were one of the first 200 to download this, make sure to replace it with the final version!

Approved. A bit linear and unntatural for my taste, but well, it is a cityscape tileset so I guess it is ok. Other than that, it is a decent melee map with a good set up for 2v2v2v2 like the blizzard map "friends". If you want more reviews, try...

Made an account just to say it's an awesome map.
Not sure if map related, but one of the AI's has just built a wall of ~10 necropolises on the exposed side of our bases, quite amusing!

You foresaw the future with this sentence:

UPDATE: I noticed that the map had wrong settings enforcing it to always stay on the current patch even if Blizzard implements balance patches at one point (LOL).

It actually happened :) Map works in current patch, confirmed:

I like everything about it. Creeping feels good, the terrain is neat, 1v1 has close spawning, and then the beautifully split 2v2 layout is great for team games. I especially like the small map size. Others release massive 100MB+ maps, but you kept it around 200 kilobytes. Thank you for that.

And the stated goal of improving FFA mode map pool was of course achieved.

Rated 4.9 stars, because the trees are a bit uniform.

Edit: Request: May I have your permission to convert this map to Reign of Chaos? (Manually replacing TFT-only creeps, doodads, item drops, etc. with level-equivalent RoC units, items, and so on.)

I prefer the old game and have done these conversions in the past, with Blizzard maps:

    Thank you in advance.
