Alright, this group has me here. I got good English, I can't stand my friends as such writing such lazy English like "lol or lolz" as such, I would prefer some nearly perfected English, also including to say it simply is direct.

Usually I will have to correct the grammar of my MSN group class as such. This group stands out well.

Hello there fellow members of the Grammar Critiques. First of all I don`t like that `lol` thing that most people write, what does this `lol` even mean?!
I am very good in English (best in my class), but I am bad at grammar.
And I always try to write correct.

What's up? I suppose this is when I say something to the effect of "I'm a grammar nazi, and I hate when I see people use things like 'lulz i jst pwnt tht nub'," right? Well, I am a grammar nazi... however, I believe my grammar problems are more aimed at people who just don't bother to do it properly. I've never had a serious problem with the '1337speak' and, when I'm truly bored, I'll use it myself. I've just always had a problem with the laziness that seems to be spread by people who may actually be smart, but don't show it because they refuse to spend the time it takes to type a simple sentence.

And, just one small correction I wanna make, DEAD FiSH, I believe you meant "And I always try to write correctly."

I may ask several questions about grammar, and i think this group is the most appropriate place, i don't think it's worth a thread in the off-topic forum.
But let me know if my guess are wrong, and of course if my grammar is not good enough let's correct it.

Ok, first question.

When i was at school we've learned to use "too much", but now i rarely see it, but just "too" instead.
Like that :

It was way too hard.

So i suppose it's commonly used in speaking but what about writing ?
Is "too much" "deprecated" ?

As far as i know... "too" is used to "fortify" an adjective or adverb. Like:
too large, too high, too much, too big, etc. It refers that the specific characteristic presented (high, large, fast, etc) is greater than normal.

You can use it in writing.
Usually, these kinds of phrases set the tone.
If you want to make the essay/paragraph/piece of text sound more professional, you can use something like this:
- It was difficult.
- It was quite difficult.
- It was intense.
- It was quite intense.
- It was utterly difficult. (Grammatically correct, but doesn't sound good.)

Sometimes, replacing a phrase like "way too hard" with "difficult" can do wonders to a piece of text.
