Githyanki Lae'zel / Night Elf Blade Master

>> 2. Sure thing. I've been wanting a hot Githyanki girlfriend.

Most of the animations are relatively slow, but they are within the realm of other Blizzard models: Casting is similar to Death Knight, attacks are similar to Tauren Chieftan.

I have standardised the spell effects to work with a 0.450 cast point; Attacks connect ~0.500 seconds into the animation.
Spell Slam and Spell Channel are psychic, Spell Throw and Stand Channel are mundane.

I suggest the following settings:
  • Death time 1.600
  • walk/run animation speed 300
  • turn rate 0.50 - 0.60
  • cast point 0.450
  • attack damage point 0.500 - 0.550
  • backswing 0.900
  • Attack sound - Metal Heavy Slice

Gfs for the gf God! Waifus for the Waifu throne! Grils for the barbecue!

Naisha has also taken up the sword and ditched the glaive.

I suggest giving her Naisha's soundset and making her a strength hero. Critical Strike and Shockwave will work with the Attack Slam animation.

You can easily convert her into a scuffed high elf or undead version by swapping out Shandris texture for living or dead Sylvanas, because they map very similarly.
If you want to swap the sword, it is rotated 10 degrees up. Then just place it in her hand, attach it to the 'Sword' bone and you're good to go.

1/8/25

Updated Lae'zel to the same standard as the Night Elf. She has armour now!

Also some tiny changes to poses etc to look a little more natural.

24/6/25

-Updated the Night Elf-
  • Smaller filesize: cut pointless geometry.
  • Leg stance changed in most animations ( looks more natural).
    • added geometry to thighs: they compress less now. THICC
  • Increased TC armor on left arm. looks more like a 'Sentinel', and better visibility.
  • small changes to portraits, more fluid.
  • improved Attack 2 quite a bit, more circular weapon swing path.
  • faster Spin/Bladestorm animation (more like Orc BM).
  • Changed Spell slam slightly (mind blast)

4/1/25
  • Adjusted footwork in ~1/2 sequences (less twisting and sliding feet)
  • Attack 1 less awkward, much more fluid
  • Attack Slam (crit) more weighty/fluid
    • Jumps higher, the swing is wider, the sword lingers longer which makes it look heavier.
  • Reconstructed hair and face, better normals and shading
    • This makes the portraits look less patchy and more smooth
  • Shortened Talk 1 Sequence

12/9/24
  • Removed DepSpell sequence, and other minor requests by ILH
  • smoother animation in "Attack 1" and "Attack 2" sequences

24/8/24
- Added Spin / "Bladestorm" animation

15/8/24
-Standardised spell castpoint @ 0.450
-Replaced "Spell" with "Spell Throw"
-Added "Spell Channel", "Stand Channel", "Spell Slam", "Attack Slam"
-Minor changes to "Attack 2"
-Added attack effort sounds

Animations all custom besides the footwork in 'Walk', which is from Illidan.

A good looking female hero with custom animations. Works in-game. Approved!
Do you plan to make Shadowheart?

Yes, it'll be "Chosen of Shar", so shadowy/dark justiciar.
I also have a plan to use that frame and animations for another idea, after I do it...

But I'd like to do a couple more kobold models before I attempt that :)

Oh and eventually I might do a male bard, with a conversion to Wyll, even if most people don't like him lol.

Very good, looks like she is wearing leather armor (+0)with those green pants, I hope to see her with gith medium armor too, nice touch with fist being changed to open hand, very wise, maybe I'll use this move later. Swords and anims are cool.
To be honest I feel bad for mocking and killing Laezel in first playthrough for her funny frog undead looks and how gith were hostile in neverwinter and how everyone simped for shadowheart(she killed laezel in camp, also laezel killed my character in camp too), although my favourite is Astarion on second playthrough she seem like cool and epic character in the end

I added the alternates with metal and TC boobs to be a bit more accurate, but I can't be bothered making her like an exact copy. I think she looks sufficiently Warcrafty this way. I definitely can't be bothered making armour plates and stuff to hang off her.

I'd probably personally say Shadowheart > Wyll > Lae'zel.
first time I left her at the cage because she was rude, and only saved her later where the gith blow up the bridge. I really liked her after doing the creche, but in second play through I romanced her and it was instant regret 🤮
First play I never even used Wyll, but when I did I liked his characterisation. He's like a guy that's trying his hardest to do the right thing but stuff goes wrong. I can relate to that lol.
Shad has the best story (which isn't saying much) but it goes off the rails after Thorm, like pretty much everything else in the game.
The other three had ridiculous stories. The only interesting thing about karlach was she dumped me after I became a partial Squidward, so I backstabbed the Emperor and made her into a Squidward as revenge.
My head-canon is I had her assassinated in the sewers after the end of the game.

Not sure why this is tagged as Alien/Futuristic xD but anyways, works quite well for Final Fantasy little wielder, big sword stuff.
Well Acxtually, Githyanki are more or less analogous to aliens in their setting. But I get your point. Should I also remove the anime tag?
Oooh, that thing you did for Spell is clever. Very inspired. I second Gree-D, might steal this one day lol.
Well done, fun adaptation. I think she deserves her own dedicated higher poly portrait with a proper face. And she should also be more green.
I've moved the portrait to improve illumination and frame the face more traditionally. If someone else wants to make a better head for her, they can go for it, but I'm nearly at the end of my tether.
I also thought she was green! but I sampled a screencap of her face and couldn't find any green parts. It seems to be an optical illusion of the yellowy/grey parts in contrast to the redder parts. anyway, I've tinted all her skin a bit more grey, hopefully that's good enough.

Main thing is, she's feature complete now, but there's tedious work forwarding all the changes across to the other skins, like Shandris.

There's a minor problem, in that Spell Channel and Spell Slam have psychic effects that are purple, which won't work well with Shandris. So If anyone (quickly) has ideas on what to change it to, I'd like to hear it. I'll probably go with yellowy/green as long as it doesn't look too radioactive.

It'd be nice if this had the generic Blademaster spin animation.
It wasn't something I wanted personally, but it's a fair call because probably a lot of other people would want it.
I'll put it on the to-do list.

It really shouldn't be that difficult, but it does mean adding a lot of meshes and junk to the model that isn't used 99% of the time.

You should remove the unused "DEPspell" animation on both models and some of the unused bones on the Shandris variant.
Okay, okay, if you're so insistent :(

and some of the unused bones on the Shandris variant.

Sometimes I leave things in because I think it would make it easier for people to modify the model. It isn't very helpful in this case, but what would be the protocol in future?

e.g. I'm working on my golem variations, and there are 2 death animations, so by deprecating one of them, people can just edit the model to choose which one they want.

You can always leave them as pastebin attachments in the description.

A small update for the Night Elf. The legs are much better in all animations (they aren't bowed anymore). Added more armor to make her look like a standard sentinel; it also breaks up the purple textures better. I'm very happy with Attack 2 now, it's basically how I always intended (see below). I was still having problems in testing but I realised I set the Backswing low (It matters!). Some other little things. Haven't updated the Lae'zel version.

Google Chrome tried saying the file was "sus,"

because it apparently wasn't "downloaded enough."

Also, good work. Love my lady Lae'zel, she got rough edges but a heart of gold.
