General Gaming Forum

If you care for an opinion: here's mine:

1) There's plenty of gaming fora already. There are plenty of fora with a gaming subcategory.
2) The Hive is a wc3 community forum for mappers and players. An extension for SC2 would be a good idea, mainly because it's a (probably high quality) rts made by the same company with a reputation to keep.

My Opinion is that a separate forum isn't needed. I'd even merge some fora to keep a better structure here (structure is good, but I mean there are already about 50 subfora. It's way too many IMO, and yet another one that can be done in one of the others is unwanted here...)

Then again, it wouldn't be too much of a problem for me since I mostly keep an eye on the top 10 fora here...

We're not talking about modding other games. We're talking about having one forum for discussing other PC games that we play.

Have you looked at the Console forum? Like that, except for PC games.

And if you've looked, you know that the Console Forum is much more serious, and generally filled with much better threads than those in Off Topic.

I'm all for the idea.

I think a general gaming forum might just be fun.

this might be off-topic but:
According to the Oxford English Dictionary...
forum n. (pl. forums)
1) a meeting or medium for an exchange of views.
2) (pl. fora) (in an ancient Roman city) a public square or marketplace used for judicial and other business. Origin ME: from Latin, lit. what is out of doors.
So I'm just wondering where we have multiple ancient roman public squares or marketplaces.

Just post it in the Console game forum. Either that or the off-topic. It doesn't really matter.

This site has enough boards IMO, and I don't want it to turn into a social forum.

I guess gaming could be a sub-board to console games, or console games could be a sub-forum to general games, but I don't find too much of a need to..

On TH, you'll notice there aren't that many forums. They have it so that if there are a lot of topics about a certain theme, they will create a new forum. Otherwise, no.

I guess it all depends on Ralle's/the other admins ideas..
