Inside this game a plot slowly unfolds around certain gems that carry a great power. A power that has to be kept safe, in your hands.
Introduction
Gems of Unification (GoU) is Role Playing Game (RPG) which can (and should) be played in multiplayer. I've worked quite a lot on this map and hope you'll enjoy it.
This map is currently still in heavy development, but playable. Of the three acts the first two are largely done. Expect this map to be updated a lot over the coming months.
If you find any bugs or have suggestions to the map don't hesitate to contact me by posting in this thread. Together we can create a new epic map!

Pick up your weapon of choice, learn your own spells and do the quests you like. Your choices determine your class, allowing a whole new kind of customization! So will picking up a bow for instance make your hero a ranged damage dealer since bows provide a ranged attack and a damage bonus. Together with the ability to pick up any spell you like (though there is a maximum of spells you can pick) you can create your own class! Any combination is possible!

What is this game about? What does RPG mean?
RPG stands for Role Playing Game, which in this context means you play a character that explores the world of Gems of Unification. You're pretty free to choose which kind of character you want to be.
In which aspects does this game differ from other RPG's, like Gaia's Retaliation?
I'll be honest, in a lot of aspects it is the same, it's just fresh, new content. In what aspects it differs are these; class customization, you don't pick a pre-made class with certain abilities but you're free to choose how you want your character to be.
The game crashes!
Make sure you have texture quality on highest, else the game can crash. Next to that, suggested resolution screen is 1920x1080. Small resolution and graphic can broke game or improperly display data. If the game still crashes after trying this try running Warcraft III in openGL by adding -opengl to your startup exe.
Help, I can't save in singleplayer! Why is this?!
In order to prevent people from cheating their character up I've disabled saving in singleplayer.
My save code doesn't work.
Make sure you're using the same playername you used while you saved your character.

The long awaited Act III has been released! It contains a new leveling area for level 38 - 48. This brand new act contains the following:
A whole new part of terrain, including the main capital Armadale
All new quests that continue the story from Act II
Brand new creeps which drop fancy new items

All save/load bugs are fixed, saving should now always generate a code, as well as loading should now always load your character fully
Because of save/load bugs, all save codes have been reset unfortunately
Mana per intelligence has been lowered from 15 to 10 per point
Base hero mana increased from 0 to 15
New Birthsign added, Birthsign: Panda provides +30% healing done
New Birthsign added, Birthsign: Dragon gives the hero a 10% chance on attack to deal additional elemental damage
Birthsign: Owl now gives +25% spell damage instead of increasing spell power
Birthsign: Boar now in addition to a health bonus gives +5% resistance to all types of spells
All spell power based abilities have their coëfficient reduced by ~30%
All creeps have their base health increased in order to increase difficulty (including elites and dungeon 2 creeps)
Player creep scaling has changed, health went down from 75% to 50% per player, damage from 25% to 10% per player

For the life of me I have no idea how to get to the questgiver Dirge. Either it's upcoming content or that glowing red rune is very misleading ):
I was also curious, will we eventually be able to change birthmarks at some point? It really only seems sensible considering how much customisation is ingame already. Also, players may find some of the other bonuses more important as they progress in the game.

Well.. the main thing i want to suggest is the Stats gain, its just simply 1 Dmg 0,5 Armor and some health each lvl.. no difference between both pets.
How about the idea of making them more interesting?
like..
Str of Hero = Damage boost to pet Agi of Hero = Attack speed to pet Int of Hero (something leadership like) = Health and Armor (since most Caster could need some tanky Pet in addition to their few Defense abillitys.)
Basically what im thinking of is to keep the pets balanced (since ur stats/gear doesnt matter to the growth of the pet) and also interesting.
Maybe something like..
2/3 damage each lvl and str of hero = 1 Str = 0,33 Dmg
Hero gains 2% attack speed? so pet maybe = 1 Agi = 0,75% attack speed
what about the Health gain? i dont know exactly ..
but maybe for example instead of 15 life each level for the pet just 5 health and another 5 for each int + instead of 0,5 armor 0,33 armor and 0,1 each int.
To make the pets for specific you could also give them some abillitys since the hawk is a damage dealer imo you should give him a ranged attack and maybe 1-2 abillitys for critical hit and a negative abillity thats like.. incoming damage increased by 20% (since hes NOT a tanking pet.)
The wolf on the other hand could have some Dodge Skill, while you possibly could add another Pet like a bear that would be like a 2h Warrior - type with splash and more defense then the others.
Another thing is the Costs of Mana seeing a mage out of mana is pretty rare so what about % costs of mana.. like 5% mana for each spell in addition the spell earns the 5% costs as spell/healpower.
Also great for lvling would be a seperate "ranged knuckle punch" abillity with maybe in exchange of a shorter Stun or lower damage.
So just suggestions but i think u need to change something on those things.
EDIT: oh nearly forgot that, i acquired the Dragon birthmark and my pet earned the effect too, dunno if u intended it to work like that?

where Vengeance is dropped?? and i think for the third dung or maybe for future dungs u should add class-set specific items for example theres a set u can only use with 2 handed weapon and i duno give u extra stats a new skill or improve a 2 handed weap skill, for example u could make a 5 bosses dung where first boss drop chests for all classes second hat third weaps fourth misc and fifth accesories or i duno will be a lot more interesting

You are able to get to Dirge and that inn, the entrance is just well hidden (maybe read a book about it).
About the birthsigns: there has to be a reason to replay the game.

Is vengeance a skill? To be honest I'm getting quite confused with where certain items and stuff drop. If you have any interest in posting a drop list/skill list, or anyone else is willing to work on one I'd be very interested!
Got in! I'll have to be honest that was extremely creative, reminds me a bit of Skyrim, or well, really nearly any good guild has a marker lol. A neat idea, and definitely encouragement to read books in the future. Dem argon- I mean, Elven maids.
As for the birthsign thing, to have nearly anything in the game customisable and have one part be set in stone is kind of a dick move, especially for new players that mess it up. Re-playability can be done through other things, like heroic bosses, using older mobs for an endgame quest or even putting things in areas that players can backtrack to for various storyline/quest related reasons, like the little glowing stone area north of the furbolgs. If you have your heart set on leaving birthsigns permanent then I won't argue further but I personally don't see the point in such an open rpg.
Looking forward to the next update, sounds like those catacombs are going to be gruesome!

I think all Staffs have double the mana regeneration than they say
Also: Protective Shield absorbs dmg after calculation with armor, dont know if its supposed to be like that
My Group somehow managed to make a creep in tomb (2nd dungeon) disappear
I dont know how exactly, but its not there and doesnt respawn
Bosses dont get The Difficulty aura anymore (is it supposed to be like that? too lazy to look at changelog now xD)
EDIT: In the game i just played was a bug
I loaded directly after another player loaded and instead of his lvl 40 thief char he got my char too (so there were 2 of my lvl 28 char, one was mine, one was his)
I found a bug at save/load sistem. If i have like a stack of 5 potions and save the game and than load it i get back only one potion, also happened with bushes.
How do you complete Dirge's quest? It doesn't even give any item to steal with or stuff like that. Looked everywhere in armadale, didn't find anything or anyone to steal from.
EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Although I have to say the quest really hard since it gives no clue whatsoever about the item that you have to steal.

Just asking: Why is this considered Off Hand? It looks more like a misc items for ranged heroes
Another bug i found: u can press STOP shortly after u chose target with Shadow Embrace and u wont cast, but enemy still get the dot (can stack)
Works with every instant spell like Telekinesis, Rejuvenation, Protective Shield and all others
EDIT: forgot to mention: When u get Telekinesis with Scroll, then u will see "Ability Scroll: Telekinesis" in the menu that comes when u chose "Unlearn Ability"

Because off hands provide more stats than misc items. Created this item for class diversity (a character with a main hand + this item), adds a bard-like type of playstyle.
Not sure if the save/load hotfix you were talking about is already in work but the "someone's already loading/saving" bug (when someone accidently tried loading a wrong code) is still present in the latest version. : /
Just found another very very annoying bug! I had a lvl 50 berserker type and lvled my mage to lvl 50, then I found there's only one document saying "Hero level 50". I loaded it and got my lvl 50 mage. Looks like I lost my lvl 50 berserker...
EDIT: I'm guessing that's due to the same exp number at lvl 50. Can you please fix that. It's really goddam annoying.
That's a pretty good idea. Although if you have the same birthsign on 2 saved characters (for example: Tanker and Berserker) their xp numbers would still be the same.
Also, I saved a lot and I have a few different class characters. So here's the problem: I can't tell which codes are for which character. Is there any way to do something about that too? Would be much appreciated )
As for alternate loads, I've just taken my codes down somewhere else so that I don't overwrite anything. Just copy your code to a notepad if you're changing class.

Also: Im still thinking that Healers get too much aggro, or Taskmaster is too fucking strong (He does like 20 dmg and has this Haste skill)
Compare him to The Butcher (I think that was the name of 1st boss in D2) who has 25-27 dmg (something like that) and attacks slower, without bash
So i guess the reason why Healer gets aggro at boss is that he deals too much dmg and healer has to heal so much
A bug i still didnt tell cuz i forgot:
If u press "Attack"-Petskill on creeps or even 1 of the last boss creeps (meaning last boss in D1) and immediately press call back, then only the 1 u casted attack on will come
Allows u to kill the Last boss 1 after another
I think there should be some healling skills that also deal some damage in the same time so that the priest will not only be a boring healler. And also every player should be able to solo with all kinds of hero builds...
Last night I downloaded the map for the first time. I liked the game, it reminds me a lot of Gia's. But the one thing I love about this game is the way you can customize the hero.
Here's my suggestion:
( Its only a suggestion, in my point of view as a gamer. )
1. Maybe you should add additional commands. Especially camera angles. It improves the game so much. It boosts the ambiance and let you enjoy the awesome terrain. ( such as locked cam or bird eye view that follows the hero )
2. Making some creeps move/roam freely rather than making them static and waiting to be attacked. Making aggressive creeps adds a lot of fun and difficulty in the game. \m/
3. I think you need to add more items and item sets. One feature I love in this game is the item improvement. And the gamble. Also add more items to be gambled. About item sets, you can add it if you want. For me having a set equipment is more fun. Especially when it gives you bonuses that individual items don't.
4. Would you mind adding aggro bar?? It really helps.
5. How about adding healing items to shops and sell for higher gold rather than sell only recipes. ( Like recipe = 1/2 price of the items sold at shop so that it gives you less time to stock items when doing sieges )
6. Re-spawning. Maybe spawn creeps in different locations rather on the same spot all over again. It adds more fun and surprise to the game. ( I love to kill bosses but its fun if you don't know where it re-spawned and you have to look for it. Adds more thrill and excitement.
( Note: except dungeon bosses )
7. How about increasing item drop rate?? Some items are so hard to be found and sometimes not being dropped.
8. Archers Range. Please increase it a bit so that you can land a hit before the enemy does without the enemy notices. That's what archers do.
( In-game: Archers range = 450 , how bout making it 500 )
That's all for now regarding suggestions.
Here are some glitches i found in the game:
1. Sometimes enemies health refills after taking damage. Tested on almost all kind of creep.
2. The terrain. Please fix the hero path. ( I hate it when i click on an area in the first town then I end up entering the tavern. )
3. Please fix the summon ( fox and crow ) attack hot-key. Cause some skills have the same hot-key as theirs. Please fix it or do vice-verse and change the skill hot-key instead.
4. Pauses/lags occur every time in the game especially when enemies are using skills ( esp. Stalkers, Elder Stalkers )
5. You can advance to the next quest even after you didn't finish the required quest because the enemy drops the quest item even when you didn't get the quest yet ( esp. the Ringmaster [Bandit's Map] and the Mother [Emerald] )

Overall i give it a 4/5 rating. GJ and looking forward to the updates!

Having creeps respawn in general isn't realistic. The spawn locations are fine, but the timers are frustrating. Reducing the time it takes to spawn units is a good idea, currently it's better to remake than wait for bosses to spawn.

Also, there are quite a few bugs to solve. I'll probably have to rewrite the entire load/save system because its just that crap (getting all these bugs :/ ). This all takes a lot of time which I currently don't have.
