Ok,my brother propossed because my windows XP is counted as 'not genuine' to install windows vista for me and then register so i can have windows updates again. But i fear none will work or vista is full off bugs .. i have no idea because everyone on every forum is telling something different i thought i should just ask you guys :p

So.. does Warcraft III,Call of duty 2, and all those work on vista? .. or not? (i heard nothing works =/ but i just wanna be sure)

so long as you do a fresh install of vista instead of updating from xp it would work yes. if you were to update chances are vista will realise that ur xp was not genuine and will not let you register it. all games work on vista, or at least they should. the only thing stopping them would be bugs, but there shouldnt be any compatability issues. supposedly there are alot of bugs, but whether this is true or not i dont know, mac fanboys have a history of spreading lies about pc's.

Yes damn those Mac bastards. There's nothing wrong with Mac, sure it's great for entertainment, but I want to freaking GAME. I don't want entertainment... regardless, good old PC's are nice as well. But hey, every version of Windows ever created has had bugs at launch, it's a fact of nature. As soon as the first Service Pack comes out (it's coming very shortly) most of the mjaor, major bugs will be addressed and hopefully microsoft can take it from there. All of your old games should work just fine on Vista.

My brother has Cracked/Hacked the vista and can register it with another vista register thingy ... its illegal yes... i've no idea how it works but i hope it works because i dont like still having this old internet explorer .. anyways i dont know why my windows is counted a 'not genuine' because when the first time i had the pc the windows WAS genuine .. im rly confused anyway .. i would curse those freaking windows creators (censored words)..

No, it should not be a problem.

Good to hear that, i hope you are right and i can play War3 and other games like i did just on XP .. otherwise im sewed =/

your brother cracked it???? your brother?!?!?! he must be an amazing skilled coder! i havent been following it but i think that vista was supposed to be one of the hardest operating systems to crack. there was a race between who could crack it first out of various hacking groups and your brother did it by himself?! wow thats incredable!

yeh but they arent the ones that have the genuine advantage function removed. what i mean is, they have cracked the kernal so it will work, but they have not crakced the registration so you can register it officially, like using a phone generation tool to create the activeate code. i am aware of the crakced beta copies because i have one :p i was specifically refering to the fact that he got it registered, like officially register with microsoft, with a keygen or something.

Well I doubt he's done that then, I think by 'cracked' he's just referring to the fact that he has a working illegal copy of Vista. I saw them, and I could havw downloaded a nice copy of the Vista Ultimate beta, but I didn't. Figured I'd wait till I get my new pc and I actually need a new copy of Windows xD
