Forsaken Catapult

Edge45 Presents

Forsaken Catapult
Created by Edge45

Model Info:.
I was looking some files when i found this model. I almost forgot the model.
So remade it up by changing its arm, added skull and replaced the wheel(Can't seem
to find better texture). The model has no placed for any TMColor so I made the wheel
modulate.

Abilities

Plague

Update: Change the Wheels and resize the arm. If you want the New ver. then it is the Main Model, just in case, if you want the old then its the Portrait

Update: Remove the old one and replace with the missile. Below is the Plague Fire(Burning oil). http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/..._files/ForsakenCatapultPlagueEmbersEffect.mdx. (The URL word might be wrong)

Created a Forsaken Catapult

Made changes with wheels and resize the arm

Added Missile and Plague Effects (Burning Oil Effect)

Author's notes:
Comment if theres any better TMColor for the model

I believe toxic plague barrels would be more appropriate for the forsaken, though I think this isn't too bad.

It`s good.
The wheels are a bit odd... I would say put some other rims on it.
Or at least rotate each wheel slightly or/and a lot. So they don`t all align - makes it look weird imo. Especial when it then makes an attack move, the skulls on the wheels/rims jump so the skulls are all facing up again..

prety nice but as doomlord said toxic bomb woud be more "apropriate" for the forsaken
i dont know do you follow world of warcraft but the forsaken make their capital sity in the severs of lordaeron(thouth kinda big severs so idk are they actually sever but they look like sever still idk why blizzard made them live in severs xD)
Btw 4/5 update toxic and u get 7/5 from me

I'm curious why you didn't follow the design from WoW? Seemed relatively unique/interesting... As for now, not a bad job, but seems sorta... I dunno, generic? Like a regular wagon-thing, with a crazy heavy stone skull welded to the front, a catapult arm, and then big skull-shield wheels.

Maybe the word is "eclectic". One thing that made the Blizzard's siege engines so cool was that they usually had a solid theme they were built around.

Good start, though; definitely better than what I could do, so kudos there. :p

//EDIT// Did some quick Google Image research and realized I wasn't entirely correct; many of those things (the fences on the side esp.) are there).

However, I still maintain it could use some cohesiveness of design, and at least some "scrunching". It appears the Forsaken Catapult was meant as sort of a "specialty/light-Catapult"; faster, less range, DoT effect (plague barrels), quicker turning speed, etc. Right now, yours more resembles a long-ish wagon-thing. Shorten the base/sides, rotate & re-seat the skull on the front (maybe mesh edit it a bit to look a bit more menacing, like the WoW one)... Then consider re-working the wheels entirely ('round' might be a good place to start :p). One big set of wheels isn't a bad idea.

(Again, I don't necessarily argue for directly copy WoW; however, there are lots of solid design elements that WoW models (Blizzard in general) exhibit, and it would be silly not to learn from some of it.)

Again, good start.

I think you could have done a lot more with this concept than you did. This had a lot of potential to be something really epic looking.

It's still decent and can be useful, but kind of meh compared to what you could have done with it.

3/5.

If you ever decided to make any kind of significant improvement to it, send me a message so I can come back and raise my rating.

Edit: It looks better, now, but it's still 3/5 quality to me.

Appreciate all of your comment. TY's :)

I could make it short, but i need a tool that can create a vertex to follow the front part
But the wheels, re-working it still makes me confuse

toxic barrels? where to put?

Definitely better; I love that Plague Barrel, and I'm glad you found some way to introduce Team Color.

If you are ever bored & want to do some more editing, I'd still love to see this garner some greater inspiration from the WoW-based Forsaken "Plague-a-pult" (Or perhaps I should just ask if I can (get someone to) edit it (myself), in the mean-time). In a cursory search of the existing racial siege units, they all seem to have nothing too crazy in terms of Team Color; wrappings around the horns or base, colored wings, colored plates, or colored wheel hubs. Most of the rest of the texture is regular wood/metal/etc construction materials. This could be the same.

Here's an example of where Team Color could go on a similar model or possible future-form; definitely don't put TC on *all* of these places, as it would be too much. Just some ideas.

Staring at this with Intense Joy

While people can complain that the model doesn't have much in common with the World of Warcraft counterpart, I still really like this model. It's very nice to have some form of diversity in undead artillery, and that missile just really makes this one helluva wonderful thing in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to seeing what uses there might be of this model!
