Did this this morning. I like the lighting more than the actual terrain.

I defenatly agree with Void on this one. The lighting for the atmosphere just looks like a very dry, dusty heat, found in barrens or in desert. You should make the light a more damp, humid looking, that way the greenery would make more sence.

I can tell what you were going for in the first terrain was the lighting of sunlight. And the problem was your background fog. Yes, the light would affect the fog and all, but I think if you changed your color of the 'light' to a more yellowish it would look more like sunlight.

But Right now, it just looks like a magical sort of glow.

Ok. with the update it looks like it would be in a colder region, but you might want it to be a little less bright, thats if your going for a humid look. If you want to have it sunny but not desert like dry, you might want to get a more yellow color and try and keep the brightness a bit lower. Still looks good though

I'd definitely say that your newer terrain is an improvement. I agree with the above poster that mentioned it looking like a magic glow. I don't like the discrepancy between the fog and the light background though. Try using a sphere model (like the storm sky in UTM) because it will make that disappear.
