Run, run into the desert with you.
Across mountain sands and seaward dunes
With only the dead for company
To the world's end, where the rain is born
With heaven's life-giving tears may you return
Else die in the wastes.
For if empty hands return, the gods will have your blood.

FORERUNNER
Genre: Dungeon Crawl, Minigame, Solo
Players: 1

General

Basics

Long ago there was this map called Urshan's Wall submitted to MMC: Dungeon (it was contest 7 I think?).
This is a sequel/update/successor to that.

The game puts one to four player against the dreamvale desert.
A series of chapters each which its own set of stage areas. Stages each have their own objective and monsters.
Players must complete the objective, and kill the level boss to progress to the next instance.

Its basically solo Dreamvale with a heavier emphasis on story.

TL:DR version
  • Run around the desert
  • Bash monsters and evade traps
  • Some story elements

Features

Game
  • A desert adventure
  • Discover hidden treasures.
  • Take up trials that modify difficulty

Terrain
  • Rolling dunes and lost cities
  • Terrain thats both playable and beautiful

Combat
  • Strike, evade and survive
  • Environmental hazards and weapons
  • Face an enemy not too different from yourself
  • Intuitive combat, bad looking stuff always hurts

Dreamvale ist abandoned for this? (cause im myself liked MP in dreamvale and liked the new version 0.1... would be a pity if its gone!)

Oh I wanna try it, so bad my computer've just gone... :goblin_cry:

Ok I got my computer. Here is my review of the testmap:

The gameplay is interesting, I like how you can pew-pew-pew cast spells not like in many
other mods that you fire your spell and just autoattack for the next minute....
I thing fixed camera was a good idea.

However some spells need fixing I assume. 'Dash' I dont see the point of its being spammable every second.
And because the hero moves fast anyway it gives a very little movement boost,
there is no point of using it most of the times (I know the unit collusion thing).
So I suggest to set the cooldown to about 5-6 seconds, but making it more effective,
setting its range to like 500yds.
'Cull' also needs a bit tweeking. Its not cool that you can have its buff always up, and
its just comfuseing to spam this "boring" ability every 6? seconds. I think you should set
its cooldown to like 20 seconds. And with that the ability becomes more interesting, because
you dont want to waste it so you should mind when to use it for a great damage increase.
Also it should cost less mana imo because it feels better to fire more abilitie
while the buff is up than just waiting for the mana regen and finally shoot like 1 spell.

The terrain is simple but its just good as it is.

However I like that wind audient sound, it'll become annoying after a few minutes of
playing because its basically just a mere 5-6 seconds footage.
But I do think having a cool audient theme is such an important thing so I attach some
longer ones here. Feel free to use them, they are from wow.
I know they are big files but you could reduce its quality or cut them
if you mind.
