I'd like to re-color various parts of the water (without tinting the water to look the same color everyware) on my map, and I was thinking about using the blood effects that spawn off units killed while in the water to do so. I've seen a few hidden resources tutorials, and noticed thier were other death effects thier such as bones and feathers. I'm aware their is easy accsess to the blood effects that spurt out of a unit at the moment of death, but I'm not looking for the path for those. I'm looking for blood effects that linger in the water after a unit has died, or a destructable such as an egg sack has been destroyed. Does anybody know how I can use these effects as a doodad? I've attached a screenshot of what I'm looking for. WateryBlood.jpg

I know there is water blocks, and lowering them with ctrl+page down could offer different water colors, but I am really interested in how to create the bloody splats without having to kill something to get it to spawn :/

I wonder, because buildings have a splat texture underneath them, would it be possible to create a dummy unit that has a bloody effect as it's building texture? That would be pretty cool and useful, though if it could be a doodad even more so :D
