Ok, here's the deal: I installed a game recently that got slightly screwed up (due to overly-heavy modification). So I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it when I realized that I lost my cd key (which happened to be labled on the back of the manual, which I had misplaced). So now I'm screwed, but I've found out somewhere that it's possible to look for it in my registry (having already installed it before). I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do it?

It is impossiable. Your CD key is encrypted in one of the mpqs so you need to not only extract it but decrypt it.

Your best bet are unrecomendable tools that might steal your key, as they get it while logging on to battlenet (only time it gets decrypted it is said).

Yeah yeah, cracks and stuff like that that break the encryption. I actually looked for some, but it was a no go. So how about that emailing me? I'll PM you my email, which you may (or may not) find weird.

Edit: @Brad: Those sites (the 'good' ones) have a commenting system, so people usually make mistakes before I do. And that hardly happens, unless it's a full game. What IDIOT downloads a full game off of such a website?

Edit2: Fullgames have the bigger chance of being a virus, not the cracks.

Actually no. Cracks are almost always full of viruses, as they're smaller and more sought after. People, having acquired a game, will look desperately for a crack, whereas they wont look desperately for a game. A good 80% of keygens have viruses or trojans. Not put there by their creators, mind you, but by the idiots who host them.

Well duh, I know them too. I thank my cousin for showing me, heh.

Edit: If I'm in the mood, I just might start playing around with skins.
