This is the best FF-Template I've seen so far, it's very close to the original one.

This a Technical Demonstration/Template that can be used by anyone to create a Final Fantasy Map.

Currently the map is a fully functional Technical Demonstration.
Summary of the map gameplay
-The map is to be turn based with an Active Time Bar (ATB) and contains many of the original magic/commands/summons etc obtained by equipping Materia to your Weapon/Clothing Materia slots.
-Play 1-player or team up with up to 4 other players.
-Still in very early stages! (very limited story line)
-An RPG In the Final Fantasy VII universe with some of the characters from the original PS1/PC game and set in a time soon after the completion of the original game.
-Bad guys (possibly Shinra) are forging materia together to make powerful 'dark' (or black) materia. The result could be very dangerous.
-Originally the people trying to stop the materia forging (rebels) come accross as the bad guys, but you soon join them and become rebels (or terrorists) simular to the group AVALANCHE.Map features

TIP: You can hold an unlimited amount of items (they are automatically stored and can be accessed during battle on the Battle Ability Menu)
Most materia is available with the expected functions, AP advancement and linking combinations. Materia functions much like a regular item but if you transfer the purchased Materia to one of your Materia Slot's inventory you are able to cast spells etc. You can own a total of 5 of each type of Materia.
-Equiping Materia
First of all make sure your hero has a weapon or clothing equipt that says that it unlucks materia slots eg.(Allows 4 Materia Slots). Buy materia from the materia shop. Then access the Materia Menu, then find the purchased Materia you wish to equip and follow the hot-key directions on screen.
-Linking Materia
Materia slots link 2 Materia together. Sometimes when you link 2 Materia together they can unlock additional Spells etc.

Currently there are two chocobos (on the world map) which you can catch using the Gyashkl Green item which you can purchase from Chocobo Bill
-Breeding
Your Chocobo will need to be level 5 before it can cast Breed. The target chocobo does not need to be level 5. The casting chocobo determines the sex and has a factor in initial stats of the offspring.
Common + Common = Green
Green + Common = Blue
Blue + Green = Black
Black + Blue = Gold
-Racing
You can race your chocobos to gain items, gil and experience for your chocobo.
Teioh's black chocobo is the hardest to beat.
You can race in C, B, A, and S Class.

Thanks for letting me know. I added it to the bugs section in my original post. I have reduced the frequency of this bug, but it can still happen; so still working on it.the timer kinda paused indefinately on the first battle
Yes, I am not much of a terrainer and also I am just trying to keep the map size down a bit and get the concepts out first. This is also true for the spells; they are very plain at the moment.Only down side is the terrain which is a bit plain

I have seen Cait Sith and Cid models on Warcraft Unlimited, but the quality was not great. If you can, please direct me to the Cait Sith model you have seen.u know there is a cat shith moddel :-D
Heya i found a big bug. When you beat the black chocobo in a class C Race it never goes out of the chocobo race. Just to let you know.
I would also increase the speed in between the better chocobos since i beat the Black Chocobo with a Common.
The models were not created by me, having said that my map is not protected so you can get the files from my map, but make sure you give credit to the creators just like I have.may i ask you to borrow the cloud model ? if searched over the net and couldn't find any that Lady Kelaodesi made.

Glad you liked the map too, and thanks heaps for letting me know about a bug, its only happend to me on my laptop (cause its slower im guessing), then I thought I fixed it, but maybe not. Did it happen to you on the latest version, the one I uploaded less than 24 hours ago?matudele: well i have played this and i have to inform you about a bug i saw in the game.
its when you are fighting if you attack the same enemy that its attacking you the entire game crashes,you should revise that or else guys will begin to complain.

I think the crash may have been caused because I was using a unitgroup array up to a size of 12, but was only setting the original array size to 1 in the variable editor. I have changed this as well as a few other changes and uploaded a new version, if anyone still finds the game is crashing or any other problems let me know.matudele: yeah it was that one i think
I agree with everything you have said about the menus and have made the changes and uploaded:ap0calypse: Smooth menu if you get used to it, but you should explain it.
(example: I thought the "Battle"-menu would be used for battles, but the "abilities (active)"-menu is used for that)

Wide variety of materia, but not that much weapons
The key to winning a chocobo race is to use short bursts of the trot ability (making sure to keep your stamina near max for the majority of the race).The chocobo-race is great, but gets boring after a while and you always lose with the captured chocobo's (you'll never win an S-rank race with those chocobo's and levelling to 5 for breeding is a real pain, though it might get better with save/load).
Thats the closest I've had to a complement about the terrain. I've left the terrain plain so people can easily completely change it and make a map the way they want it using the systems I have created.Terrain looks good, nothing extraordinary though

I was allready considering adding the opening bombing mission song to the map and the one on that website is a nice version of it.

I made plenty of Icons for FFVII, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus. Sadly i will never be able to get them approved, but if you want to take a look, i would upload them to e.g. rapidshare and give the link to you?

Yeah I agree with you that in Final Fantasy VII on PS1/PC Sephiroth was predominately a villain. He was only part of the party in a flashback sequence.mare: All i can ask is 1 question: why is sephiroth as a playable character?
I know he was, he is the main villain of FFVII afterall, but why is he playable?
