Sorry, i'm not a closet anime/manga nerd. Hell the only comic books/graphic novels I have are Star Wars.

But, I do watch a teeny tiny bit of anime and that comes in the form of Cowboy Bebop, which I love. That and i'll watch Astroboy if there's nothing else on very late at night.

Those are really the only animes that i'll watch. The rest are either too confusing or too wierd for me, and I can't be arsed with them.

Mind you, as a small child I DID fall in love with anime in the form of Monster Ranchers... if you can count that as anime >.>

Monster Rancher was sick. So was Escaflowne. And all the other anime they had on Fox Kids before it became FoxBox, or YTV.

TV or manga:
Minami-ke (full of randomness)
Minami-ke Okawari (done by a different studio, season 2)
Lucky Star (randomness)
Evangelion (obviously Gendo needs to see a psychiatrist, he is shown CONSUMING Adam in the 11th volume of the manga. Volume 10 and 11 are full of shonen ai, Kaworu kissing Shinji part was a bit gay. Manga is going to use the End of Evangelion ending.)
Gundam Wing (omae wo korosu)
Mobile Suit Gundam (TOBE GANDAMU!)
Kidou Senkan Nadesico (leet opening song, You Get To Burning)
G Gundam (leet, only super robot Gundam in the entire series)
Naruto (good at first, like the wave country and chuunin exams arc were good)
Bleach (same as Naruto, only the soul society arc was good)
3x3 Eyes (manga, gorey, but realistic that way duh)
Yu-Gi-Oh (yami no game series, the whole card thing after that became stupid)
Pokemon (1st generation was leet, watched it when I was a kid zomg!)
Doraemon (timeless classic)
Super Robot Taisen OG (lol this actually has its own anime)
D.N.A^2 (manga, pretty good)
I"S (manga, ummmm a little bit too long winded)
Dragonball (manga, good before the introduction of saiyans)
Mahou Sensei Negima (manga, not finished yet)
Love Hina (both manga and anime)
Cardcaptor Sakura (lol watched its English dubbing as a kid)
Initial D (not too bad, really)
Slam Dunk (the series stopped suddenly wth)
Yu Yu Hakusho (I reckon Bleach ripped its idea off IMO)
Video Girl Ai (manga, only got first 2 volumes)

Movies:
Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz (about as stupid)
End of Evangelion (kimochi warui)
Nadesico: Prince of Darkness (Ruri appeared in like 90% of the screen time)
Naruto the Movie 1-3 (pretty good, ninja action-filled instead of giant monsters vs giant monsters like recent Shippuuden episodes)
Bleach the Movie (not the Diamond Dust rebellion)
Toki o Kakeru Shojo (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, good music, very very good storyline)
Laputa, Castle in the Sky (Studio Ghibli stuff are always good)
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle (don't really like this too much though)
Kiki's Delivery Service
Nausicaa of the Wind Valley (interesting idea)
Grave of the Fireflies (very very sad story, I actually did cry at the end)
My Neighbour Totoro (huh)
Porco Rosso
Pom Poko (k this is bad)
Whisper of the Heart (not too bad slice of life)
Princess Mononoke (epic)
The Cat Returns (ummmkay nekomimi)
Tales from Earthsea (typical storyline)
Byosoku go Shenchimetoru (very very detailed and nicely colored scenes, I like this one very much)

And probably some others I have missed out. Don't think I'm an otaku. Don't think I'll include stuff like Words Worth *ahem* and Night Shift Nurses...

Funny, I never played the game, but I enjoyed the show a lot.

The same can honestly be said about Digimon. I know that it was a stupid fad, but I really enjoyed the show itself, it was well done, and the first season (plus movie) was like heaven for me as a kid, and how they reintegrated the kids (and Digimon) into the real world was pretty sweet, I mean 6/6/6 and that whole bit? Pretty brilliant for your average kids anime cartoon...

Favorite Anime!

What is your favorite anime or animes? Please explain why you like them. If you don't watch any anime then select none.

Example:

I voted for

Bleach because it is an enthralling anime about spirits and the afterlife that portraits a metaphorical battle between the shinigami, who are like angels, and the hollows, who are like demons.

Mushi Shi because it explains supernatural events in the world through nature and science. The plot and flow is very well made. It also won an award.

Avatar because this anime demonstrates how government works and how a war starts. Though all the governments in avatar are monarchies, it demonstrates how the fire nation, uses fear to control its people (ie Azula), while the other nations are benevolent.

Hare and Guu what can I say Guu is just hilarious XD!

I picked three animes ...

Bleach - By some reason, this is a cool anime and I enjoy watching it. Haven't watched it for a while, though. I like the entire fact that the "real" world exists parallel with the world were most things happen. The first let's say 20, 30 episodes are quite lame, but when things start to heaten up and the tempo increases, it suddenly get's very fun.

Naruto - I like this anime fairly much since it is a combination of hilarious jokes, humor, but also dramatic, heroic scenes. Those two make a great combination together. I like also the entire storyline with ninjas going out on missions of different kinds, for some downsides i'd have to say Naruto (the character) can be quite too annoying from time to time, sure he's 12 years or so, but still.

Inuyasha - This anime has great characters with great characteristics, in my opinion, at least. It's good that this anime is not too long, yet not too short either, really. It's a combination of the awesome elements of anime, and this is probably the best "kid" anime in my opinion. Huge weapons, cool effects and sounds together with mighty battles, can't say no to that, eh?

Well, I voted Bleach, FMA, and DBZ.

But Pokemon, when I was like 8, was awesome. Also, like brad said, Digimon (the first season) was teh shit.

Hellsing, but Fate/Stay Night gets an honorable mention. Cowboy Bebop's a great one too.

Hellsing has some of the most win characters though. Alucard, Anderson, Pip, and Walter FTW.
