Farmers' Paradise is my take on a unique blend of Warcraft 3 mods.
As the name would suggest, you are a farmer, in a region which serves loyalty to the King. As such, the King will make various requests, ranging from demanding Grain for his soldiers, Meat for his banquets and Weapons for his troops. Completing these quests will award you with Royal Honour, as you serve the king, and please him, he will start to reward loyal subjects.

Every 20 seconds of game time, your units need to eat. Hungry little buggers they are!
Livestock typically have an upkeep cost of between 1 to 6 Grain.
Humanoids typically have an upkeep of between 1 to 5 Grain and 1 to 5 Meat.
Specialist units, such as Knights, Magus and Beasts eat considerably more.
If a unit is starving, he will take 10 damage. However, this damage is not permanent. The game features a method of 'remembering' what damage to a unit was caused by starvation. And, if a unit was starving a minute ago, the damage is undone when that unit is fed again.
Royal Favours
The game incorporates a system of Quests (or Requests) given to you by the King. These range from things such as:
As you complete these requests, you are awarded with 'Royal Favour'. As an added competitive edge, the first player to complete a (re)Quest is awarded with a bonus - these range from military units, additional Royal Favour, better crops, sturdier livestock etc...
Your 'Royal Favour' is a measure of how much the King likes you. Fall into disfavour with the King, and you will see harsher requests imposed on you, military sanctions and trade embargoes... Become too 'close' to the King, and you might be asked to attack a fellow player in the region... The key is to strike a balance: economically, politically and in a military sense.
Linking Attacks to Requests
Status: Being Implemented [25/100]
As the king makes requests, various scenarios occur around you. These range from things like: the King's daughter, the Princess Orelia goes for a ride and loses a precious necklace. Which can be returned for Royal Favour. To more standard events, such as a goblin war band marauding your grain supplies, a pack of wolves terrorising immigrants, evil sorcerers being evil etc...

Royal Favours
The game incorporates a system of Quests (or Requests) given to you by the King. These range from things such as:
- Grain Request (Small: 100 to 300 / Medium: 301 to 600 / Large: 601 to 1200)
- Meat Request (Small: 25 to 99 / Medium: 100 to 249 / Large: 250 to 400)
- Food Request (Combination of Small/Medium/Large Meat and Grain)
- Goods Request (Feathers/Wool/Leather)
- Military Request (Footmen/Archers/Knights)
- Defence Request (Attack a Player/Kill Neutral Faction)

Which can be returned for Royal Favour. To more standard events, such as a goblin war band marauding your grain supplies, a pack of wolves terrorising immigrants, evil sorcerers being evil etc...
The Victory Condition:
The final release will incorporate many different game modes:
- Regicide: Your goal is to kill the King. But, you will have to keep your friends close and your enemies closer as you strive to achieve this. Fulfil the King's requests to avoid suspicion, stay one step ahead of your neighbouring farmers (players), and strike when the iron is hot. This mode is reccomended for experienced players with at least 60+ minutes to spare.
- Invasion: The Kingdom is under attack by Orcish Hordes from the North and Valithrian Elves from the South... What's more... an Evil Sorcerer has been corrupting granaries and grain and an Undead force is brewing right under the King's nose... This game mode focusses primarily on the military/combat side of things. Of course, a hungry army won't fight as well as a fed army...
- Sibling Rivalries: This is a Free-For-All brawl. Medieval style. No politics, no alliances, no treaties... You are pitted against up to 5 other human players, all seeking total control of the Kingdom. The King is your friend, provided you fulfil his requests and gain his favour. To annoy the King will only add another enemy to your list. Your key to success in this mode is fast, shock-troop raids on an opponents grain crops or supply lines. Disrupt the flow of Royal Favour and cause your opponents troop to starve - then strike hard and fast. You cannot afford to leave your farm unprotected for a long period of time!
- Tower Defence: This is a vastly simplified version of the game. Yet, it is good practice for the real thing. Every round you have to acquire a certain amount of Grain or Meat. Later rounds you will be required to acquire Goods, such as Feathers, Leather and Wool. All whilst under the constant attack of Orcs, Elves, Undead, Wild Beasts and neighbouring Kingdoms.
The Development Goal:
To create a game which seamlessly blends elements of:
- Tower Defence - protecting your crops and livestock from things such as Locust Swarms, Goblin Warbands and Evil Sorcerers.
- Role Playing Games - unique and progressive storyline and you evolve as a subject to the king to an eventual dominant power in the kingdom. Transform yourself from amateur farmer to battle-hardened general as you conquest your neighbours and eventually take down the King.
- Politics / Negotiations - play tactfully and with discretion. Keep in mind, that you want to please the king but not become his puppet. Fall into the trap of being too docile and you will be over-run by your neighbours or an invading warband.
- Strike the balance between Economics, Politics and Combat - The fully automated way in which economic units such as Labourers and Mules operate, allow you to set up your defences and wage war while your crops grow, are harvested, and transported to your granaries.
