Fall of the Lion

fotl.jpg

This campaign is set during the First War, covering the events of Warcraft I.

Heroes and Units
Anduin Lothar (The Lion of Stormwind) - The greatest knight in the land, and leader of King Llane's armies against the Orcish invaders.

Uther of Northshire (Servant of the Light) - Before he took up the sword and became the first of the Paladins, Uther was a simple Cleric, a man of peace and faith.

Khadgar (Court Conjurer) - Former pupil of Medivh, Khadgar is now intent on finding a way to save Azeroth from the dark plans of his former master.

Archbishop Alonsus Faol (Servant of the Light) - Head of the Holy Order of Northshire, he serves as the spiritual father to the land.

Aelir (Priest of Quel'Thalas) - In their grace, the High Elves of Silvermoon have sent an emissary to Northshire Abbey. Aelir brought four great gifts to the Abbey from his people, and is instructing the Clerics on the finer points of Elven healing.

Cleric - The Holy Sisters of Northshire travel throughout the kingdom, aiding the people with their healing powers.

Conjurer - Though the mysterious and secretive order of Azerothian spellcasters are protective of their knowledge, they will aid their fellow citizens in time of need.

Wielder of Shadows - These ancient Orcs are the highest members of the Shadow Council. Their command over the demonic powers is rivalled only by the demonic powers' command over them.

Necrolyte - The powers over death and decay given by the demons to the Orcs were bestowed on this corrupt order. Spreading death and disease wherever they go, they blend into the night itself.

Warlock - Lesser members of the Shadow Council, the warlocks wield demon magics that have corrupted their bodies and souls beyond measure. When the Warlock is killed, Spiders will spring from the corpse.

Played campaingn, nothing special about it, interesting ladder games change (simplier priest/knight/archer) building, but I only played 3 map and found 4 bug/small error in only the 3rd one (I got 10k random resource with no reason and my wood kept increasing a lot, the pally was invisible during cinematics (cloak item) and was talking/being talk, the medkiv guy attacked me right after I talk to him (after the cinematic, but he was invincible and behind a big woodbranch), and the Archmage made the teleportation move but didn't teleport).

Rated "Ok", this campaign need to be updated.

Hmm, decent campaign, but Luthien improved his campaign making skills vastly for The Last Druid. Compared to that amazing campaign, this one is only average. I'll give it an 8/10.

A good, solid campaign. It was good to play as the humans in the first war. I think there could have been a bit more variety in quests, but overall quite consistent.
The last druid was a lot better, I find.

Attention

ATTENTION EVERYONE.

This is NOT the correct version of the Fall of the Lion campaign. This is just an unauthorized mod created by some guy that altered a few models and broke a few things.

The REAL campaign by Luthien is found at his personal site (http://fallofthelion.tripod.com/). His other elf-campaign map is there too.

The real campaign has none of the problems you guys are talking about...Khadgar's hair isn't white, the maps are all updated and glitch-free, and the campaign's final level is actually included.

I played through this fake version to the end, so I know what I'm talking about. As far as finding the fourth elven artifact, it's not bugged. Take a look around for a suspicious sheep.

^Imitating is one thing. Herogod stole someone else's campaign, changed a couple of units, and slapped his name on it. Nowhere does it give credit to the original mapmaker, Luthien. That's not imitation, it's theft.

As far as whether it's bad, well, this version has bugs and the original doesn't. That speaks for itself.

It doesn't matter if you think the terrain is better. How would you feel if you wrote an entire book, and then someone copied your book, changed the cover art, and then slapped their name on it, taking all the credit for your hard work?

WARNING: THIS IS NOT THE REAL CAMPAIGN! THIS IS A FAKE!

I just don't understand why don't you guys change the campaign? This is NOT the real campaign. This is some altered version by someone else. PLEASE change it. I played this shit 'til the last mission and it made me puke. For real. This dude altered the campaign and then wrote his name there.

THIS IS THE REAL CAMPAIGN:
Fall of the Lion

What's the point of the story? I've no idea. It's a mix of the campaign Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and some of its manual information. There were three heroes implicated but none of them got any real development. At first I thought this was going to be about Uther and it could have proved to be interesting.

lev1:
-Uther is a blond elf
-the orc group that comes to the town from town to town spawns out of nowhere; the area is surrounded by trees, there's no road out of the map borders
-when the player engages that group, the townsfolk militia comes to help the player and it doesn't matter how far the orc group is from the town
-well, tough luck for finding the optional quest as the main quest ended with one group of orcs coming to town

lev2:
-Uther's hero glow is red now...
-because of the barricades the Ogres can only attack one at a time
-the whole first main quest description does not fit in
-the prisoners didn't look like they were since 20 months there
-this level is too short, don't even have time to feel it

lev3:
-Lothar already eager to help? He should look like a stick with his teeth fallen about now
-the Ballista shoots a glaive instead of a big arrow
-the orc Shrine looks the same as the Warlock Temple
-there's a Doom Guard in front of a ramp to somewhere that belongs to Medivh and nobody asks or says anything about that
-too many Gold Mines that no one will use anyway
-Khadgar supposedly teleported but he was still there

lev4:
-Conjurers have the portrait of Jaina
-Alonsus could have not been invulnerable to make it more interesting
-Aelir isn't special at all. He is even weaker than a normal Priest
-quite unreal to capture all Conjurers since they went in different directions; some of them would have surely escaped somewhere safe; they didn't even look like they ran but just hid in the nearby woods waiting...
-the player must be careful what he puts in Faol's inventory not just because he might not be able to get the items back but because he may not be able to complete the quest
-another level that the player can barely breath in

lev5:
-saving Decard Cain...
-the orcs would be able to learn human magic secrets in a matter of days?
-funny thing: Uther talks like the Paladin and Lothar like Uther
-saving the prisoners leads to the south gate which leads to the orc main base; killing their leader will result in an instant victory without the need of returning to the Town Hall to use it

interlude:
-the part with Aegwynn was just useless and unnecessary; she just came to tell them what they've already known as she could not help them with anything...

lev6:
-the melee creatures behind the prison doors can be attacked by the ranged mage and his elementals
-no hints regarding the library key; it's just not fun; it was very easy to get the book too...
-Finger of Death costs no mana
-I suggest an item instead of a summoned unit for the Marble Statue
-Garona's part is pretty much wait and cast Finger of Death...
-why would only Garona be an easy target for Medhiv?
-Blizzard has a weak effect on Medhiv's Skeletons
-this level could have been the best of them all with puzzles and gameplay RPG variety but...

Not that bad actually but it's way too easy. Chapter 1 is also unecessary too long.
Orcs doesn't even attack the villagers and instead the focus the soldier units..wtf? Even if the villagers stand right in front of them.

Chapter 2: I didn't even found the paladin. I just killed an ogre boss and he dropped tome of divinity. Mission Done. What?

Sorry but I'm not motivated to continue playing. 2/5*

Played the original campaign instead of this *edit* so my review is the link actually.

I have to agree its surprisingly easy but annoying especially the last mission. For some reason you can make a base but not revive heroes?

The last mission is literally ridicolous forcing you to go amongst this tight terrain repeatedly trying to defend against the orcs so you men can follow through. I mean this campaign was pretty weak but it was also pretty fun.

I did like the series but again like many it lacks polish (this one a bit more than normal)

Overall 2/5

Guys... This is Uther ?! "Uther of Northshire (Servant of the Light) - Before he took up the sword and became the first of the Paladins, Uther was a simple Cleric, a man of peace and faith." This Uther ?! Who will become Uther The LightBringer?! It definitely has the wrong model... Maybe because it was made a long time ago and now I know and have seen that there are excellent models made here. Is it possible to replace them here in the campaign mod?! Is there any tutorial to do this?? Or can someone teach me?? If it works, I'll put the new version here myself to make this campaign mod even more perfect than it already is.
