DVD burner help

I'm looking to buy new DVD burner but I'm not sure what to buy and what exactly to look for. I was looking at this one but I'm not sure if it would be good for what I'm looking for. I want it to burn games, images, iso's, along with the usual dvds and music. However I'm not sure if its exactly what I want, or if it would work well enough. I don't want it to be to slow, then again I don't want to pay over 50-60$ on one due to my lack of money. So would that be a good one to get?

I recommend you try and look for student/budget hardware if you lack the money but still want a bang for your buck.

And you're looking at an extern DVD burner, which is almost the double the price of a normal DVD burner.

Oh and, don't make up your mind all too fast.

Sidenote: According to your Walmart, the cheapest is $39.88 with a 16x speed, but this LG22LS20 has 22x speed but is (I think, according to the current Euro/Dollar currency) cheaper with it's €25,00 pricetag.

Alright thanks. I don't know how long I'm gonna have my computer so I thought an external one was a good choice. I just haven't really looked into how DVD burners work and what all the specs mean.

I'm a rookie at the advanced stuff too, but all those 22x, 12x, 16x mean one thing: Speed. It's obvious the bigger the speed, the better it can read/write. Off course, with computers and other stuff, you don't per sé need to have the best for (example) 20x speed for 50 euros while you can have a 15x speed burner for 30 euros.

I understand you might soon replace your computer with a new one but hardware like DVD players/writers always remain in one size (for another 10+ years), so there's nothing to worry about that. I still got an old floppy drive in this PC while floppies aren't being used any more.

LG's Super Multi DVD Rewriter costs only 28 euros. (And yes DVD means it can also read/write normal CD's!)

If money wasn't an option you could get a blu-ray, they can read/write everything.
