Introduction

This Map is heavily inspired by Dungeon Siege and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night that’s why it has many boss fights and Dracula (in Dread Lord form) inside it.

everything is great only need multiplayers :D

that wouldn't do much... there are a lot of maps on the maps section that needs to be moderated...

and I like the fact that it is SP, because you don't need to find other players in order to play...

I completed the game with the dwarf, v1.5, very hard, no cheats.

Some thoughts:


Make all cinematics skippable. But I guess you're going to eventually.
In the hero selection, it says "sellect". It should be "select".
The range of opening chests could be a bit longer.
Make the companion able to open chests.
Snare Boom has no mana cost. Is it supposed to be that way?
Make the hotkeys Q-W-E-R-T-Y
The ability icons have overlapping coordinates.
Snare Boom can damage the hero who casts it.
The ultimate lags like hell. I've never seen so laggy spell.
The Poison Mushroom ability could allow air target, so could the rock thow ability.
The normal dwarf allies were annoying and of no use after I left the starting cave mouth. When they teleported to me when entering/exiting caves, they just blocked my way. The rest of the time they were fighting baddies where they spawn.
I think you could nerf the third wave of the special event. The two other waves are manageable, but the third is really really difficult. Lower health and make the ability do slightly less damage.

My Review on Dungeon Assault

Awsome map!

:thumbs_up:Nice chests that open up when you right-click on them.
:thumbs_up:Nice difficulty settings. (You don't see a lot of maps with 5 settings.)

:thumbs_down:The only thing I would like to fix can be explained by the attached screenshot. I played the Hunter Hero and I was fighting some skeletons. I used the Deflect ability and a Skeleton Warrior attacked me and then I my Hero teleported up on a cliff and I was unable to get down even after activating the ability again and letting the Skeleton Archers and mages attack me.

:fp:If it wasn't for that, I would have gave this map a 5/5, but for now a 4/5. :wink:

I suggest you to upload unprotected map, start protecting them when they reach really high quality, there are still to many errors that need to be improved, we can't show you where you made them cuz we can't check triggers or object editor, even if I de-portect your map part of it be damaged or just lost in process so I can give wrong advices.

You may also want to check map development forum if you already did not.
You can get feedback and upload systems heroes etc etc in demo maps so users can test them and leave feedback.

I will check your map now and post below what I think about it.

Ok let see.
I picked game and saw average map preview and after that average loading screen.
Maybe you can add last change log, hints or some suggestions/info about story/author (you) there.
Post link to this place as well.
I picked normal mode and picked Wanderer.
Not warcraft icon looks really bad.
Then saw hero spells. Very bad, I expected to see some synergy between them.
You know 1 spell depend on another, one lower resistance another deal magic damage, combined you can do larger damage, 3rd can give chance to critical damage spell so you deal really high damage once when you reach high levels.
I attacked stash, there was no hint so I attacked it for like 5 attacks, after 2 fast right clicks it opened easily. Create hint about it. (Can be displayed when hero come into 400 range of 1st stash).
Then I attacked 1st creep. 25 base attack damage against 250 hp. Grrr, I wasn't able to heal or cast spells at 1st level hero is weak and enemy units are strong. To make things worse enemy creep cast curse on hero so I missed like each 4th attack. Replace that spell with dunno, some passive for example.
Everything else related to gameplay was same, you must create different and unique things, people will get bored after 10 creeps.
Items, grrrr there was no items buddy, few potions and that's it. Big mistake, check games like Diablo, items are everything.
Terrain, terrain was boring honestly I expected much.
Add fog effects, lightning effects. Create cliffs without bottoms. Resize mushrooms a little, all are same grrrr.
Create dummy unit, add locust to it, resize shadow to 400x400 and place few inside caves to create awesome dark lightning or should I say shadow.
Add rocks (remove pathing ground and set max size to 2.00), it will look awesome.
Open map properties window, check fog, check lightning, set it to underground (will increase terrain quality by 100% for sure) or maybe dungeon (50% cuz dungeon lightning look bad to me, 2 much red).
Add spell/damage text show systems (2 triggers with 10 lines of code).
Check my hero pick system (link in signature) it will work perfectly fine for your single player map :)
Damn dude 2 much thing to show you, 2 much things you need to learn.

I will leave this map as it is, still I will check process and hope to see some change, once when it reach acceptable quality I will approve it.

Well, what can I say, thanks for your review dude, but hey this map is way back then when I was still learning things, but with my new knowledge of JASS/vJASS, I think I can sort most of the codes except the terrain coz I know that my terraining skill is full of shit, well maybe in the future I maybe able to improve my terraining skills...

Ima update this with the best that I can with the help of the people who contribute this map...thanks again...

There is bug with tomes i play with Dwarf, and buy tomes of Agility i got not 1 point before that i buy tome of knowledge ... also i got nothing. there is another bug when you click twice on first boss cave you watching cinematic and then your hero leave the cave before you can kill the boss (you cant return second time). I get following error Attempt to destroy null struck of type: EngageSystem__Engage
On very hard it's impossible to pass skeletons after the gate after the Den of Skeletons and there is a door which you need to kill a boss ... and there is some guy with ugly name :) ... it's impossible :)
Maybe i didnt play too much but for now i cant pass lvl 5 ... i'll try to complete it on Easy :)
When you get in circle Death get souls ... fix this to ask did you want to be healed or not ... If you play with .. i forget the character that whisp nonstop entering in circle ...
When Mira is killed from Water Element she's not give the key ... rmk :)

i put in attachment ss of boxes that are bugged they are 3 (or this are secrets?)
i got the error again it's in ss too.
Better is to remove cinematics when you kill minion that tell to summon something ... you need to return there again to get tome or idk.
There is no BAG. I got one Knight that when i enter in door after Mira he followed me for no reason.
Spirit Hat can only contain 10 not 20 souls.
And btw need to make something with this items ... they are not too much but some of them are tooooo powerful :)
Tips off command ... (too annoying!!!)
There is one cave which cannot enter ? or it have secret ? :)
Last cinematics where Kelen (not Kellen, a little grammar mistake) is about to kill bad guy if your not playing with him cinematics stop when girl kill him there is nothing else.
First remove that gates :D they are allover the map.

i couldn't open the final boss door....it says i need a key but the boss i killed last didn't drop one it was the last door in the prison corridor...

you have to kill Anubis and the Grim Reaper first...

- Mira will follow and attack you wherever you go...
- I'll fix the souls on version 2.3...
- I'll fix the cinematics next and others as well...

I am playing as the Wanderer and enjoying this map a great deal. The gameplay is excellent.

However, I am stuck. I just defeated the lich and am in the library. There is a door here that will not open. When I walk up to it, it says "You can't enter yet!"

There is also a chest in this room that will not open. I can hit it with my weapon, but that does nothing.

I cannot go back, because the door I came through will not open from this side.

What do I do? :(

Moon Mover, you can get the key if you kill the lich and 4 of his skeleton minions...
I made it through. The problem, I think, was that I had Charmed one of the skeletons instead of killing it. I assumed that killing the lich was all that mattered.

Speaking of charming, here's a tip for anyone else playing as the Wanderer: charm the gargoyles! Since they can fly, they are the only minions you can have follow you into new zones.

Nice map, mckill2009.

Tested this game out and used a Wanderer. At one point, I was killed and used 250 souls to revive but since then I've lost the ability to gain experience. I'm stuck at Level 5 and no matter how much I kill I can't get experience.

I actually liked where this map was going, but something irked me. I never got anything from the treasure chests (except one contained souls...no description to say what they were for). Maybe I wasnt opening them in the right way, but the looked like they opened. Anyway, big, BIG bug when youre tring to kill spiders. It causes some text to pop up that never goes away. Probably an error with a trigger, but it renders further gameplay impossible.

- Im not really a good player of WC3, so normal seems hard for me XD...
- Chests opens up gives you a "Chance" to get random items or traps or NONE at all, but maybe the chances are too low, perhaps Ima change the settings in the next updates...
- Ima check that text you mentioned...

All are welcome to join this project as I am importing heroes from players who played this map and likes to make their own hero with their own name, and be placed in the Tavern, take note that the spells must be fully MUI and leakless as I am planning to remake an option to make this a multiplayer...

My review of this cool map

I played this map, too and i really enjoyed it! :thumbs_up:I played the hunter (Orist), too.

Terrain

It is awesome, the cool Outlandtilesets dodaads amazed me really much! I have nothing to say, it is well done. 5/5

Abilities

They were awesome, too, especially the level 8 spell. Looks like they are triggered and a lot works lies in them. So they are good. 5/5

Items

They are good, too, especially the ones you can buy in the middle of the map.
I liked the opening chests, too. 5/5

Gameplay

I liked it really much, a cool and well-balanced Hero Defence map with lots of creeps and bosses, really well done. Looks like you spent lots of time to make it. The hero selection in the tavern is balanced, too. 5/5

Pretty cool so far, only negative is the treasure chests. At least put something in there! lol. It lets the player down if they constantly open empty chest. Make it worth while to open them and more rewarding....Or maybe have less in the game? That way they'll never have to empty ones :)

Bug or?

Hey dude, you did a good job on this map, I like it :)
But I found something that made me create this account just to reply here. When I encountered that level 30 boss (I believe her name was Mira or something) she has a flying creature with her. I killed her (playing as the Wanderer) and it seems that I can't damage that creature! The karma doesn't do damage neither does the poison, I can't charm it, I can't heal from it (not to mention normal attacks because it tells me I can't attack flying units) so basically I can't kill it. And I didn't find any key from the boss I killed so I'm stuck there :/

EDIT: I agree on the chests. I only found 2-3 items and 1 with souls from 27 opened chests :/
