GUYS!

How effing gorgeous is this game?

A few things we know:
• Cassandra and Varric are going to be party members. And the you have this Kossith mage. KOSSITH MAGE (Qunari).
• You can play AS a Kossith this time around.
• Game is going to be open-world
• Semi-destructible environment that can aid you in combat (eg: destroy bridge on which enemy archers are standing on and send them to their doom)

Tell me if I missed anything.

I don't know about you people but I'm soooo pumped for this game. And don't worry, it still has tactical combat they just didn't show it in the vid.

At this point it's pretty much guaranteed to be nothing like DA2. Bioware specificly stated that they looked at fan criticism on DA2 and avoided pretty much all of it, like the reused settings.

There are also various things here and there that tell that DA:I will improve more on Origins than DA2, like you can now pick your race (Human, Dwarf, Elf, Kossith), can customise party member gear, etc. I updated the OP with more gameplay vids (courtesy of this Youtube channel) that show a lot of gameplay from PAX, and the game looks amazing in both visuals and how it actually handles.

better not suck like 2

I would hardly say Dragon Age II sucked, it was just a little worse than Origins since they improved the combat system but put less time into the characters of the story which in my opinion was a huge mistake but even then the game's not bad.

Cassandra and Varric are going to be party members.

You forgot Vivienne the Orlessian circle mage.

Also we have the ongoing debate if wheter or not Flemmeth is an old god which I enjoy to discuss, however that would mean that one of the old gods would have had to take possession of Flemmeth since shape-shifting has not affected Morrigans lifespan so neither should it change that of an old god and also the only female old god that has lived was the one we slayed in Origins so in my opinion it seems more logical that Flemmeth would be an abomination who wants to inflict herself with the powers of an old god to make herself more powerful then ever before, the one problem with my theory though is how Flemmeth came across a ritual that would spare an old gods life and this is just a theory so I might be wrong.

I see where you're coming from, but objectively the game was just not up to par. Mechanically, it worked pretty well; the combat was fun, but because the game was rushed they had to artificially lengthen the game by making the combats last longer by sending unending waves of enemies that came out of nowhere. It got boring quick, as did the re-used environments. Another thing like non-customisable party members also knocked quality off of the game. We we taught to expect more from a great franchise opening like Origins, but DA2 just didn't deliver.

Otherwise, I agree that DA2 was okay, but it felt so rushed, and that was a damn shame :(

Originally I thought Vivienne was qunari because of the horned helmet. Turns out she's just human with a fancy hat :p

I don't think Flemmeth is an Old God, or an abomination for that matter. I think she's simply a mortal who discovered the secrets of a long life and powerful shapeshifting - after all, we know she's not invulnerable, since she had to have a backup plan (with Merill) in case she was actually killed. I just think she's very old and knows a lot of secrets. Hell, she could have been around when the Teviniter tried to breach into the Golden City... which, speaking of - Coryphaeus or w/e his name is - theories out there suggests he's still around in the body of somebody else... maybe a villain you will face in DA:I?

I do hope they retain Flemmeth's DA2 character design though. She was really badass - my favourite character by far.
