I've tried it recently. I was too young to play it when it came out, so I've first tried it after I played WC3. It's a cool game, but perhaps a bit boring when you're used to Warcraft 3. I wish I could've played it when it came out.
Warcraft 2 is from my childhood though. Gotta love that game.

So yes, the graphics are very, very bad. But hey, it's really old. I was two years old when it came out :p

I wouldn't say the gameplay is bad, actually I rather think it was ahead of it's time when it came out.

But Warcraft 2 is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest game ever made.

No, I meant what I said. Warcraft 2 has a certain charm that Warcraft 3 just doesn't have. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Warcraft 3, and it's one of the games I've had the most fun playing, but Warcraft 2 has something that it doesn't have.
It's the same with the Elder Scrolls series. Morrowind had this feeling and atmosphere that Oblivion doesn't have.

OMG lol yeah thats pretty bad, I used to love wc2 tho cant remember how old I was when it came out, my dad still has it on his laptop, I like how things were darker and grittier in wc2 than wc3. Apparntly wc2 was more popular than wc3 though.

That's how it always is. NWN1 has a feeling NWN2 doesn't, Halo 1 is even comparable to Halo 3, the sequels are never as good (to scale) as the originals. I still think COD2 is better than COD4 or 5.

i played Warcraft1 before ...
you cant select all units at once you need to control them one by one and in that time the AI will attack with a huge army and you know the rest ...
and also you need to click on the move icon to move and on the attack one to attack

A classic example of how far gameplay mechanics have come since then. Back then that was normal.

You can select four units by pressing Ctrl, knowing this does help when playing the game.

Man, I played Wc1, 2 and 3, and I have to say, Wc1 is, by far, the hardest of all. You can only select 4 units at time, click on buttons to do actions and the graphics are bad... But Wc2 have that insanely cool songs, an classical (yet amazing) story, and carismatic characters (c'mon, Lothar is much better than Arthas). I played them recently, as when the game was launched, I was waiting to born.
