"DIES IRAE"
"Day of Wrath"

Welcome dear forum's enjoyers!

I'm here to tell you that I want to create campaign or at least oneshot map.

List of characters I will include in the story:

The Player: Commandor and overseer of the mission.

Main Characters:

изображение_2025-02-13_004557481.png

Lady Dante Blanchefleur

FASDA.gif

Lady Linry Westerlund

They are relatives

Both serve the crown as Spymaster and Royal Knight.

Dante has personality opposite to Linry, more extravagant, while another is more temperate, but both are travelling together on mission and something happens there that will change their lives.

Those two I chose to be the main protagonists but one of them may perish, maybe it might be done by choice by the player or just a linear.

Minor characters:

Ship Kapitan Korsika

rgesgsegsergseg.gif

Dame(Sir) Jeanette Darce

Male characters are without their own models yet.

If you have something to suggest feel free to share your thoughts and tell me any tips. For example I'm not familiar with terrain art at all! I know it is difficult to create such thing, so I'm asking for advice, where to begin with?

Also check out what MelNefys composed to this screen!

This is awesome news! I think you have a good eye for tone and any story that you develop will be incredibly interesting.

My advice to start is to familiarize yourself with the power of the campaign editor. I see alot of folks who are new to campaign editing make use of the object editor only to groan in exasperation and confusion when they see they have to copy and paste their editor data between maps. Get yourself familiar with campaigns by reverse engineering them and looking how they are setup in the object editor, campaign editor, and trigger editor.

A good frame of reference would be @Footman16 's campaign Lordaeron's Destiny. Take a look at some of its missions and figure out how @Footman16 was able to accomplish different cutscenes, encounters, terrain, etc.

If your like me you might have a single passion for a component of the editor, you might find yourself immediately drawn to the terrain editor for example. This is good... but its still important to understand the different components to all of their capacity before you really get fully started. Once you have a decent orientation around the tools available to you I suggest you focus on making a single map to demo with concepts that you want to play with (RTS: Make a new tech tree, RPG: make new custom abilities). Continue to build off of this first map and really put some thought and depth into it. What is nice is that it sounds like this is already your intention, still remember that the best thing you can do to learn is to make a viable playable map and then develop and update it using feedback along the way.

This is my advice, and obviously folks in here might have some better tidbits than me to contribute. My last closing bit is that the aesthetic of your models is fantastic and that if you veer into the direction of terrain art I would suggest you learn to find good ways to utilize doodads that create interiors such as Wall Set by @Tranquil as I find that the whole castle and holy cathedral type environments will match your theme. Lastly I think you are super capable and I look forward to anything you produce!

Thanks for writing an expanded message. Well I can change height of doodads, it's a super useful knowledge XD
I might use WoW assets for interior maybe.

Nice idea!

Tbh, I really like gif, where our two main heroes sitting in tavern (?) - the room itself looks beautiful. So I think that the landscapes will also be beautiful.
And by the way, as Achille wrote above, your models look incredibly beautiful, so in order to emphasize their beauty with the landscape, I would recommend that you use these resources! I saw you wrote that you want to use models from WoW, and this pack goes well with them, in my opinion :peasant-smile:

I think if you’re still going to make a map, then a game-mode for two players would be quite suitable - Idk why, but this is the first thing that came to my mind :peasant-smile:

Ultimately, good luck with your scriptwriting and the production of your work! :peasant-thumbs-up:

Thanks for good words, but the landscapes are not going to be 100% beautiful :hohum: because background is ported from Torchlight 2's character selection menu. I've deleted bartender and the guardsman from it.
I thought about those resources you linked, thanks. There will not be 2 players option.

All right. My suggestion is to at least belong to this world view. Maybe this will attract more players?

As long as it doesn't involve the relevant plot ......

It looks like there will be a battle at sea.:piru:
I don't think its good idea, I do this for myself only.
Naval battles? Hell yeah board fights

Oh, wow, I didn’t recognize this menu right away xD
For some reason it seemed to me that this was decorations from WoW :peasant-smile:
Well, as for the landscape, I think everything will work out, especially if you have beautiful doodads in your arsenal

Good luck and inspiration to you! It will be very interesting to play your campaign :peasant-thumbs-up:
