Mafia Wars

The idea:

Alright, the idea is to make a map based around the ideas of the mafia. The map wouldn't be like LOAP however. I don't really have much fun when playing that. What I think would make an interesting project is to make a game that gives you the ability to choose either mafia or police. I'm not sure if this map would be a multilpayer game but it would be something to shoot for.

The Game play:

Choosing mafia, you would start out by choosing your character. You'd choose the base model, your own name, and your abilities. The abilities would be things like perception, persuasion, and other skills pertaining to crime. You'd also get to choose your main job. You could be a contract killer, a bootlegger, brothel manager, and others. The brothel manager would be a to be determined job for the sexual references. Probably won't be a job but its an idea. Choosing your job, you will rank up in the job until you reach the highest level, Mob boss. Through leveling in the other specific jobs, you'll slowly gain access to the other jobs, the higher your rank is.
Once you become a mob boss you can hire lackeys. If this became a multilpayer map you could hire other players that are lower ranks to do your bidding. You probably think that once your a mob boss there won't be much to do anymore other than hire people to do odd jobs, but You'll still have jobs to do. You'll for one have to manage any business's you've opened, fight off any enemies you've made, whether their mob or police related. You'd be playing a never ending game of fighting to survive.

Choosing Police, you'll of course be fighting the mafia. You'll start out as a low ranking officer and work your way up in rank. You'll be able to get money by capturing criminals and doing simple missions. Once your a higher rank you'll be able to run a police station. From there you can hire officers and send them after the mod bosses or the mafia members making their way up in ranks. Being a police officer your also saceptable to persuasion. Mafia members can pay you off as a cop and in turn you get money to go after that mod bosses enemies.

Gaining Enemies:

is something that will happen in the game. Playing as a mafia member especially. You can steal, attack, and set up fellow mafia members. You can steal money, weapons, and their own mafia followers. You can gain enemies as a police men if you go after any mafia member more than once. You can also become enemies with a mafia member if you reject being payed off. Being enemies with each other puts a target on your back. You gain extra experience, money and influence if you work against your enemies, however your enemies gain the same. They will continue to fight against you until they have left you with little resources or have killed you main character.

Dieing:

When your main character dies you would either choose to become one of your followers or you would choose to end your game. However since you wouldn't want to start all over again you could either choose to start out as a mob boss, or you could start all over again. Same for police except with the police ranking choices.

Running Businesses:

You would run and manage businesses. They would give you a steady income depending on your overall influence. Hiring more employees would also increase your income as well. Some businesses would give you large amounts of money but would have a slow income rate while others would have small amounts in quick intervals.

Influence:

You gain influence from your rank, employees, businesses, and jobs given or performed. The more influence you have the more things you can do with your mod, and the more things you can buy or sell. However higher influence also means a larger target on your back. If you take out players with high influence you will gain large amounts yourself.

Money:

You will make money through business. Whether that be killing, bootlegging, buying and selling, or running stores and bars. With money you'll hire mob members, buy weapons that upgrade your mob to better defend yourself, and buy off police. The more money you have, the higher your influence grows as well.

The game itself:

I didn't cover the entire idea here but that's pretty much it. I don't even know if this would be possible on the WC3 engine but if so it would still be quite a large project. Just throwing the idea out. If anyone saw this as a possibility then I'd be happy to run the project in the future.

I freaking love the idea, especially the police thing, with ranks, and in the end, you run the station.. Keep going! :)

true say,.... its awesome man... I have some suggestions that you may or may not like, I think that you should use save/load codes for like rank's and stuff but only let a set amount of people have the "Mob Boss" rank. So that everyone has to join like 1 of 10-20 Mobs. Make getting to mob boss not hard as shit, or you could hold championships to win the mob boss title so you can make ranks harder to climb.

But this looks like an awesome project man keep it up!
