Did 1.29 break the "Channel" ability's functionality?

I'm using channel, as I have done for years, to create several different abilities with no effect (just a trigger). However, the abilities are all triggering each other, even though I changed the spellid (which was how the ability is supposed to work).

Am I the only one having this issue? Does the ability work for anyone else?

Well, yeah, there is no spellid. I said spellid because the Order ID is, for all intents and purposes, a spellid, and I just forgot the correct term.

Your post did actually help, though. I'd been changing the Order String instead of the Order ID....I'm rustier than I thought!

Changing the Order String does not help if you based it on the same ability.
The game will always recognize it was the same spell that you have created it on once, atleast as far as I'm aware of.
If one unit is using more than one spell you have to create different base spells for it.
