Diablo III Warcraft Beta v1.19b



This map has been based on the Diablo III Gameplay Video. You may even recognise a few of the in-game events if you've seen it! Please remember that this is a beta version, and may still contain bugs. Anyone can host this online, just let me know if you find any major flaws in the game :)

wow this is cool :) I guess we nede to wait for more D3 Gameplay to see their terrains, huh. lol :D

Btw maybe u shud kinda hide the map. I can see everything right when it starts, Not as in units and stuff but all the terrain. Fog of war still there, which is good.

oh, and last part u forgot about the 4 tree guys right before final boss battle

Ok i'm fucking tired of my friend, he thinks this map sucks......................If you ever meet "Green_Day_Dance" annoy him to fucking death......And also i suggest 1 thing, DONT PLAY HIS RPG "Twilight's Eve ORPG", IT IS BEYOND SHIT!Dunno why ppl play it though, im crashing his fans by linking them to this and other games.-A Quote from him.

Updates are going to take longer from now on, as the map is being made by a team, and a new version can only be released once the whole team has finished their individual parts and its all been brought together :D

The next version may take a while, but its going to be one hell of an update! ;)

Also, the original versions of this map featured a locked camera, but I removed them because it really limited vision. The fact that the terrain had a lot of height variation meant the players hero was not always in the centre of the screen, and occasionally wouldnt be on the screen at all :S

About controlling summoned units, just make them follow you (I mean you cant control them easily while cam is locked to you)

Righto :) I'll keep the default as unlocked, but I'll add a -Camlock command if players want to use it for the next version :)

Ive been speaking with the team, and apparently the new witch doctor spells are nearing completion :)

I have to be honest, I might have taken your post with an ounce of seriousness if you knew how to construct a coherent paragraph and form intelligence sentences. However with the terrible banter that is your post one can't help but to assume you, and your internet friends are a group of dim witted 16 year old's who have a serious lack of intelligence and understand about anything involving anything else other than what they read on the internet.

Im afraid 1.12 might take a while due to all the individual parts being created by several people xD

However, just to keep you up to date on progress:

- I beleive the custom inventory being made by LTGH is about half done.
- A new set of triggered spells for the witch doctor have been finished :)

We just need to finish the spells, and the inventory system, and I'll release the next version :) Once these things are finished, production should be a lot smoother, as I'll be doing most of it myself again :D

In the meantime though, I'm currently working on a new mini project, which I'll reveal at some point ;)

The system is more then half done, its almost done, all i need is a pick up system.
About the boss thingy im making, should we skip that part or should i keep working on it since all i get is more problems and its really hard to work on so many things at the same time ><_><

Im working on 3 projects. This one, Im a beta tester to a zelda fangame and im making my own Game Maker game.
Ofc this is the project i put the most time on. Otherwise i wouldnt have gotten so far with the inventory :p

I can send you a beta of the boss so that its in the map but its not used for now, if you want ofc.

sounds good to me :) We can leave the new boss for now, and just put him into a future update when we have the time ;)

Soon as your inventory system is done, I'll upload the newest version :D

As for deadlines and your other projects, don't worry about it xD We're only doing this for fun anyways :) Just finish it whenever you feel like it :D I'm not in any rush to get it done :)

lol, yea, I'll admit that production has been rather slow as of late :S

As soon as the new inventory and spells are done though, I'll be doing most of the updates myself again, which means they will be a lot more regular and smoother than they are right now xD

One way would be to have one "pickup" slot so when you pickup an item it appers there and from there you draw it to your bag, that would be simple but it would take longer to pickup items since you just can take on at the time and it would look wierd but i will try to figure something out. >_<

Thats the whole point with the map. And the equipment/inventorys is one of the most important part.
Example > What would WoW be with a 6 equipment slots, Two weapons, Two armors, two Other.

Apparently the witch doctor can also summon fire mongrols? xD I might give the higher level mogrol summons the ability to ignite or something? :p

Mind you, im running out of space as it is xD Im not sure ive got room for a 200kb skin :/ I've already got to find a spare 500kb somewhere for the inventory system xD

Personally, I think you shouldn't even go back to exploring the idea of Tyreal in the game as a boss, etc, or even in the game period.

I know you plan on creating your own custom game that will streamline off of this map, and I don't know what your plans are for that, but regardless, perhaps removing a whole boss and a custom skin and all triggers, abilities, etc associated with that boss would free up some more room to allow for more custom imports in other areas of the game.

Its true ;) The tyrael boss does take up about 600kb all by itself xD

It just looks so damn nice though, and helps to give the map that Diablo feel xD However, if I really am stuck for space, its definately a good idea as It would remove all the space in one go :p

Also, the aim is to make several maps, and allow players to load their characters on any of them. So I could easily take him out of this map, and put him into another one :D

We can also create "Event" maps that we only host once a month or something and we have to put a password at the start of the game for it to start and have special epic items and stuff that only is accesable at serveral times of the year, that would be fun xD

Tyrael looks to badass to get removed now but if we have to, he will be gone. I guess alot of people will kill us if we remove him but do we have a chooice? :/

Like the map, especially the terraining. Though, you should try to make some of the enemies (generally weak mobs) more intelligent.

Also, sorry to bother you, but how do you lock the camera height to a unit and not the terrain.

i think he uses every 0.1/0.01 sec set camera view to blah blah blah something, i dont really remember.
Anyways, people doesnt know what open source is or are they just lazy and dont read the text? :S
The map is open source and you can open the map and get the exact triger yourself.

Yeah, sorry. Though i noticed that the camera hasn't its height locked to the character. It is only the distance that makes it not fall down in all of the places.

At the moment, the camera height will vary depending on the height of the terrain xD I didnt realise there was a way to lock the height to a unit? :O
