Custom Cheat?

i have a doubt...

everyone knows about those cheat codes that we are able to use only on single player mode.. like greedisgood, thereisnospoon, etc...

where exactly are those codes in the game? MPQ files? triggers
on each map? i'm asking because i want to customize then or create one
of my own.. if its possible of course.. i'd like to understand how they work

i'll appreciate any help

I'm not sure if they're coded locally or even in JASS.
I would think they're hard-coded in the engine.

Why not simulate your own cheat codes by triggering?

well.. its not my thing.. i rarely mess with triggers only when it really simple stuff.. i'm not good at..

and i don't wanna do any major change either.. just put some kind of limit for then to work only for specified player colors or something like it..

Basic cheat

• Events
  • Player - A Player types -ilovethismap as an exact match
• Actions
  • Player - Give Triggering Player 1000000 gold and let him win obviously

You can't make a decent map without triggering, it's what drives the whole game.

Also, this is a really simple trigger.

  • Events
    • Player - Player 1 (Red) types a chat message containing somecheat as An exact match
  • Conditions
  • Actions
    • Player - Add 1000 to (Triggering player) Current gold

its possible to set it for any player? no matter color?

You can copy paste the trigger and put other players there.
Or, you can make another trigger to register all players to the trigger.

but.. i got myself thinking.. it is possible to simulate ANY kind of cheats codes into triggers?

like infinite mana (thereisnospoon) or fast construction (warpten) with a little less speed?

if it is, how do i start?

Sadly, some cheats requires tons of triggering, this is to simulate the cheat itself, but with triggers, you can make the cheats work in multiplayer by default as well.

I don't know if the triggering can do that :/.
Maybe it's from the engine.

Do you play dota? If you played it so you know what "-wtf" means?
-wtf is a cheat that allows a player or a unit to cast a skill without a cooldown and mana cost.
Q: How to do that?
A: Simple.

  • Events
    • Unit - A unit Starts the effect of an ability
  • Conditions
  • Actions
    • Unit - Reset ability cooldowns for (Triggering unit)
    • Unit - Set mana of (Triggering unit) to 100.00%

Remember that it is only an execution of the code. But if you want a player to type -wtf then you can make an another trigger to turn on this trigger.

ya, i figure that.. i spent hours trying alot of stuffs but.. nothing..
but its cool you know.. at least now i have a better understanding of how triggers works

i think i understood whatcho mean by another trigger to turn that one on..

i'll gonna try to set it..
