It is a known fact, that custom abilities with the same base (E.g. stormbolt) will clash if given to a single hero. Yet, there are many maps where hero can learn any skills in any combination.

Besides using a different base for EVERY custom ability, is there another workaround to prevent the clash? Thankyou.

Hi, I atemted to make a map where a hero can combine any 3 out of 7 orbs to make a spell. It turned out that the hero can have any 7 out of a total combination of 84 spells. Sadly, there is no other way to make a unit cast a spell without involving the Order String property. You can keep track of which Order strings are still open for use and which aren't like I did, but once you hit the 348th spell then you are pretty much screwed. Good luck making so many spells.

In reality you don't need over a certain amount. With custom spells based on channel you will most likely use 12 order strings at most - one per ability slot. If the spell you want doesn't deal damage then you can just use a dummy ability based on channel and make an invisible dummy cast the real spell when that happens. For spells that deal damage this will make enemies run away. If that isn't a problem, then you can use it for pretty much any spell.
