Corrupted USB

My friend was moving a very large file to a USB of his, and during the process, the USB fell out of his computer.
As a result, there's about 2GB of trash on his USB that he can't delete.
He attempted to format it, but that didn't work.

I tried to do so as well, but I failed.

So now, I'm resorting to Plan B.

Is there anyway I can physically erase data off of a USB?

maybe you have this problem http://superuser.com/questions/32825/partition-table-corrupted-usb-flash-drive

anyway, it will be easiest to contact the manufacturer and ask for advice (there are a few problems regarding corrupted usb drives noone else can solve)

if you just want to delete everything you may put it in the microwave until it melts (or burn it otherwise)
magnets won't work because flash drives don't work that way (unless you squeeze it with very huge magnets)
