Can't find a camera USB jack

A frend of mine gave me his camera for a while to transfer some pictures that I need for a school assignment, but instead of a regular USB port for it, I got this... monstrosity.

I have never seen suck a USB jack. It doesn't fit anywhere, and that's the only cable he gave me to use. The camera is Sony DCR-HC24. Can anyone help me? Should there be a regular cable that my friend forgot to give me, or do I actually need to "add" a USB jack into this PC just to view a goddamn picture?

Hmm, there is a regular USB jack for it. Try going to a local computer store - they should have one, if you're fancy buying one. I highly doubt there's an "add-on" to that jack - I guess your friend forgot to give you the USB jack.

THATS NO USB

Tis a Firewire, or IEEE1394. It's essentially a really fast USB without the ability to branch. There are adapters for Firewire to USB, but meh, try to find a computer that has one. (mine has twoooo~)

yeah sucks to be you.... if you ever find a way to use it. be sure the camera is off when plugging it in and unplugging it. Otherwise it could break the camera.
