The parts aren't supposed to be connected, since it's a collection of animated boulders (like the Galaxy Quest rock monster).

A simple solution from the parts floating is using an aura connector like the ones in the infernal, just a flat mesh with an energy texture.

on things floating, there's a difference between 'parts not meant to be connected, but still nicely put on top of each other', and 'parts just distanced with no rhyme or reason'

the first one is obviously more coherent, and anything that floats should have something holding it there, like infernal's fel energy being the joints
