Maybe some trees in the background/behind the wall/behind the buildings? The screenshot doesn't really showoff that much and the lack of environment, hills, and tile variation just assists the feeling of plainness with this terrain - which isn't a good thing. Although I do see some tile variation under the market places and in the back, there needs to be more! Otherwise it looks very bland.
Trees, bushes, grasses, and even flowers will help liven your terrain more. Even though this is supposed to be a small portion of the city, you should keep in mind that cities aren't just rocky paths and buildings. Even try to throw in some rocks and/or a pond (would require a larger terrain, but I say go for it!) so it doesn't feel so limited to an industrial/urban medieval setting.
Also, if you want this to feel more like it's part of a 'city,' then I strongly recommend adding buildings beyond the wall in the background. You've done so on the right side of the terrain but not on the left. Try to mix in some trees too, so it doesn't get to feel so boringly plain, same, and simplistic.
