I am actually looking for a type of terrain I have seen being done multiple times. It revolvs around a Night elvish theme where the "City" is built in the trees and connected with wooden bridges and plateau's. Think I recall seing the last one around 2006 or so.

I am looking for it as a refference and inspirational terrain as we're making a similar level for our own game. Cheers in Advance!

I must've seen this type of terrain done at least 20 times, and yet I can't find the right one. I am 90% sure that I know the exact one you're talking about, bridges and all, but I cannot find it whatsoever.

However, these links may help. Hopefully you can get some distorted form of inspiration. I am pretty sure none of these are ones you're thinking of, but I'll post them anyway.

When I first read it, I remembered it as one of ghenjis' terrains:

But his village is for tauren, and isn't much of a tree village.

Beam has made a few. His latest one:
http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=78495
But I feel like it is missing pictures. Here is his older version:

Hell, he even made a WT contest for it:
http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=62314
But I don't know if it has any that you're looking for it.

One that is almost, but not quite:

I'm pretty sure it wasn't this one above (I remember it having a different atmosphere/fog), but it is still pretty cool.

MadSen's almost fits:

And I do remember liking it a lot when I first saw it. The atmosphere is pretty similar to the one I remember. However, I'm pretty sure it is not the one. I remember tables being used to form a spiral for some of them, and bridges, and much more pics.

Here is one:

It has the bridges and trees and the village aspect. I don't remember it being that one though.

eh, cool but not the one:

-----

old one re-edited (I think he was in Beam's WT thread):

a few:

corexx made one too:

=======

Hopefully some will be of use. I couldn't find the one I was looking for. I feel like it was in a gallery post rather than in a specific thread just for the tree village, which is why it is so hard to find with searching. But eh, I tried to find it.

P.S. Welcome back!

P.P.S. Is this for sc2 or an indy game?

Thanks for the valuable posts. The ones made by bur are quite lovely, the one by Mr. Goblin as well. Definitely able to use relay some of these as inspirational pieces.

I am still lurking around actually, but barely post anymore.

It is for an Indy game we are making by the way. I'll try to post something about that in a different thread on a later stage.

Ah, good luck on it. If you ever get enough progress and wanna show us some previews, this is the forum for it:

If you're making anything even remotely related to tree villages as playable, then I definitely want to see it. :p
