[tr]Rexxar-like Hero-centric campaign but with plenty of build-destroy, fixed-force RTS maps/missions following Centaur Heroes and their allied Heroes, interacting with Warcraft races post-Cataclysm WoW lore through different regions like Desolace and Tanaris.

SIX LARGE REGIONAL MAPS planned: Desolace, Feralas, Un'Goro, Tanaris (Thousand Needles as an instance), Dragonblight, Silithus
3 instanced RTS missions per REGIONAL map

Hero Level capped at Max 100 for replayability with endgame replayable RPG and RTS Missions and Bosses and Arenas with increasing Loot and Difficulty, Onslaught Survival Map
Centaur Race, with WoW/DOTA 2 ripped and further modified models for units, buildings, Heroes with custom abilities/spells/effects, nomadic mechanics like mobile resource dropcenters with migrating buildings, little defenses allows for refreshing macro play, low hp but speedy, micro-engaging armies

Neutral Factions: Cenarion Circle, Earthen Ring, Alliance, Horde

As I stated at the top of this page, it's a very alpha build WIP project. There is a Test Map, but I have decided not to post it yet, since it's still very raw.

I will post a Balance Test Map only when I will fully master the WoW-WC3 and DOTA2-WC3 pipelines and get at least the Centaur civilization complete with custom buildings, units, Heroes.

So far, I have custom buildings but with WC3 models/textures (WC3 Centaur Tents), only one Centaur Nomad worker with WoW Centaur model+pickaxe+animation (however the Death animation is bugged floating in midair), and just two of the Heroes done (still using vanilla WC3 models/textures).

I hope you understand.

Yeah, haha I can't wait for Heroes of the Storm to come out. Murky is there as a crazy Banzai kamikaze Specialist lawls!

Yep, by the looks of it, I'll need all the luck and assistance I can get. I'll be hitting the Modeller's forums as directed by several helpful folks here at Hive Workshop ;)

So far, I've completed the following, with WoW models, custom WoW gear/weapons/shields, and animations:

1. Centaur Nomad (basic worker). GEAR: Pickaxe
2a. Centaur Archer (Tier 1 Ranged Unit). GEAR: Bow1, Arrow, Quiver, Arrowstack. Abilities: Envenomed Arrows, Burning Arrows (upgrade). Like Headhunter into Berserker, Centaur Archer can upgrade into Centaur Impaler.
2b. Centaur Impaler (Tier 2 Ranged Unit - armored model). GEAR: Bow2, Arrow, Quiver, Arrowstack. Abilities: Envenomed Arrows, Burning Arrows (upgrade)
3a. Centaur Drudge (Tier 1 Melee Unit). GEAR: Centaur Spear. Abilities: Whistle Packhound (upgrade). Like Headhunter into Berserker, Centaur Archer can upgrade into Centaur Impaler.
3b. Centaur Outrunner (Tier 2 Melee Unit - armored model). GEAR: Scimitar, Centaur Spearstack on back. Abilities: Whistle Packhound (upgrade)
3c. Hyena Packhound (Summon Melee Unit) [Limit 1 per Caller]
4. Centaur Shaman - Centaur Female model (Tier 2 Magic Support Unit). GEAR: Centaur Throwing Spear, Wolfhead hat, Blue Cloth Torso. ABILITIES: Healing Totem, Purge, Lightning
5. Centaur Druid - Centaur Female model (Tier 2 Magic Support Unit). GEAR: Druid Staff, Kalimdor Eagle hat, Purple Cloth Torso. ABILITIES: Rejuvenation, Mark of the Wild, Moonfire
6. Centaur Khan. ABILITIES: Warstomp, Endurance Aura, Reincarnation
Galak Khan Ablinh. GEAR: Blue Spear [just like in WOW]
Gelkis Khan Shodo. GEAR: Black Scimitar [just like in WOW]
Kolkar Khan Leh'Prah. GEAR: Qurjai Spear [just like in WOW]
Magram Khan Kammah. GEAR: Mace and Shield [just like in WOW]
Maraudine Khan Hratha. GEAR: Two-Handed Axe [just in like in WOW]
Note: These will be supporting NPCs and sometimes PCs in certain missions but not heroes per se.

1. Centaur Yurt (basic Food house). Can Migrate to turn into a mobile Centaur Migrant(Yurt) and re-deploy elsewhere.

[Strength/Agility] Centaur Khan, Stonetalon Khan Turok or Turok, Khan of Stonetalon (WOW Centaur Khan for now, to be replaced with DOTA 2 Centaur Warrunner model/animations)

Ability 3: Marksmanship Aura
Ability 4: Charge

[Strength] Magnataur Runemaster, Dregmar Runebrand (WC3 Magnataur for now, plan on using Dregmar Runebrand NPC model/animation for him)
Ability 1: Rune Shield
Ability 2: Rune Weapon
Ability 3: Runed Resilience
Ability 4: Rune Shard Armor

[Agility/Intelligence] Sandfury Mahdi, Muad'dib'jin (Rokhan model for now, plan on using Sul the Sandcrawler model for him)
Ability 1: Sandworm Strike
Ability 2: Quicksand
Ability 3: Crysknife Finale
Ability 4: Sandstorm

So, I plan to push out the Centaur Race Test Map sometime soon, as soon as I get the buildings done, I think.

Oh wow, thanks for the find Jevan Grimtotem!

I did find some models of this set here on Hive Workshop (currently it's my Tier3 Main Building, but I'll replace it soon enough) and I give them props for sticking with WC3 models to achieve these original productions. I like all these buildings as ideas except the Watchpost. How would a four-legged Centaur get up that ladder lol? Everything else is stellar, and frankly better for a nomad human civ rather than a four-legged Centaur humanoid civ.

However, since I'm going to have WoW textures for even the map and tree doodads and such, I'm going to keep to WoW artstyle, which I feel is similar enough to WC3, yet more visually up-to-date than WC3 quite dated models. I mean for Orcs, Humans, Undead, and Night Elves, most models are still quite passable, but for the Centaur, they had one of the LOWEST polygon models ever. Their WC3 heads were just merely triangles. They looked atrocious. WoW Centaur look better (after removing offensive flies, etc).

If I were not to use WoW models at all, and purely stick with WC3 visuals, then yeah, I'd definitely use that. I still downloaded it and will tinker around with it for inspiration for my buildings but I don't think I'll end up using any WC3 materials for the new Centaur Horde. I may use these buildings for old/Fel Centaurs though, perhaps.

Again, thanks for finding such a great resource of buildings/building ideas for the Centaurs/nomads.

Updated the main thread with Early Alpha screenshots.

I just need the time to finish the building set at least, since buildings are far easier to mod in than units with animations/props/weapons.

Still struggling to port over DOTA 2 models for Centaur Warrunner, Leshraq, and Enchantress. I'm thinking to port over Lunara from HotS instead of Enchantress possibly.

Still, my most pressing issue is finding the time to finish this mod to at least functioning race. Still struggling to have Berserker-like upgrade for Archers into Impalers and Drudges into Outrunners.

Seems like a massive task, you've clearly been struggling with motivation for two whole years? (unless you've been ripping models the whole time :p)

Is it necessary to rip so many models? I think you have enough with the melee, range and caster variants of the centaur model.

You are struggling to find the time because building a fully functioning (including custom models) AND balanced race can't be done on a whim. The more units/buildings a race has, the longer it takes to create and balance. You can try cutting out auxiliary units/buildings that aren't really that important.

Also posting because i myself am making a Centaur campaign (more to kill time and learn the campaign editor than anything serious) and would like to see how you take things (your direction lore-wise seems to be ruthlessly creative!)

Still struggling to have Berserker-like upgrade for Archers into Impalers and Drudges into Outrunners.
You could use an edited spell based on Destroyer Form for that, like I used in my map. The spell can additionally have an upgrade as a requirement for being cast. But, beware that if you use that spell on a worker unit it will not be able to build anything, so it needs to be complemented with this trigger:

  • Pot Woodcutter
    • Events
    • Unit - A unit Begins casting an ability
    • Conditions
    • (Ability being cast) Equal to Invincibility Potion
    • Actions
    • Wait 0.90 seconds
    • Unit - Replace (Triggering unit) with a Fel Orc Peon using The old unit's life and mana
    • Selection - Select (Last replaced unit) for (Owner of (Last replaced unit))
