Castle vs Castle Flame Edition 2.0c

It has always been my dream to create a map, but not only a map, a map that could make a difference, help people. This is that map...Flame_Phoenix

Hi guys, this is my map, from clan SOR. I've been developing this map the last 3-4 years, but only now I started working on it due some issues. This map is a Castle vs Castle map, it is by far the best I've ever seen and played. This is the beta version, it has bugs and needs testing.

You are invited to be an alpha tester if you want. You will gain reputation points if:
- You find and report bugs
- You give me good suggestions on how to improve the map
- You suggest spells, models or icons
- If you are a good tester, your name will appear in the loading screen.

Reason's to why you should play this map:

- 2 New Unique races: Blood Elf and Chaos Orc
- 4 new Tavern heroes
- A detailed multiboard with information about the game
- This map is open source, so you learn everything and gain experience
- Every Hero has a detailed story connected to the game (if not it will soon be added)

History, Major Changes:

Version Beta 1.1
- Remade and balanced the Wave system, now you can buy waves with lower costs and balanced spawns
- Remade and balanced the spawn system, now the castles spawn less units and there is more synchronization
- Added Shop System, now the shops can travel across the map, also each shop also has 2 pages of items
- Remade the welcome text, now it is more informative and fun to read
- Player 9 can now benefit from the Night Elf tutorial, Players 10 and 11 will have to wait

Version Beta 1.2
- Remade the hero Sylvana from the High Elfs. Now she is a hell of a hero and I am sure most of you will enjoy her.
- Remade and updated the code of the Blademaster from the Chaos Orcs. Made some spells more powerful and efficiency was increased in all his 4 spells.
- Fixed a bug with the description of Shocking Aura, the description is now correct.
- Gold in mines was improved to 150.000
- Fixed various spelling errors
- Now first hero is free and costs only 5 food
- Ranger hero (Sylvanas) now costs food as well

Version Beta 1.3
- Fully remade the Night Elf tutorial system. Now it is MUI and has more functions the player can use. Press F9 for more information.

- Made deep changes in some the internal system RaceAndTips and Icons for the Multiboard
- Made a full remake of the multiboard, from the zero, to fix all bugs and make it usefull by adding new fields
- Fixed the iddle workers bug. Now the human peasant will no longer appear!
- Added the sleep system just for fun! Now when the workers are idle a sleep animation will appera above their heads just if as they were sleeping for real!

- Reduced dependencies from the Devour coded abilities
- Fixed and balanced MultiOrb from the Chaos Orcs. Now the healling effect appears, and the slow from the orb will stack with any spell.
- Improved the code of Strenght Armor to be more efficient and easier to change.
- Improved the code of Wisdom Armor to be more efficient and easier to change.

- Fixed a bug with the multiboard when buying heroes from teh tavern.

- Fixed Blood Bound ability, now it has a correct buff.

- Updated the "Launch Seal" spell from Druid Dwarf to be more balanced and to have a minimum range (so the paraboloic effect does not look stupid =P ).
- Fixed Chaos Barracks tooltip
- Remade Chaos Grunt unit. Now it has better abilities and fits in the theme decently.
- Remade the Chaos Berserker unit. It has new abilities and is fits in the theme better as well.

- Changed the attack type of all chaos units to piercing, magic and normal, in order to balance the game and the race.
- Due major changes that will occur in the next patch, the shop system in now down for a remake. Shops will only have 1 page inventory items and they will not travel.
- Due major changes that will occur in the next patch, the NE tutorial is not just down, it was also removed. Maintaining such a complex system with the new update coming would not be worth the effort.
- Due major changes that will occur in the next patch, the following heroes are down for a remake: Chaod Rider, Electron. These heroes have spells removed are being remade.
- Summoner hero is also down until a new design line comes up. He was too unbalanced to be played with, now his unbalanced spells got removed.
- Replaced the Urn item with Greave item on Chaos Orc shop. Now they have a tier 1 item very useful.
- Rebalanced Strenght Armor by lowering the chance of success.
- Fixed a bug on the Power Jump dwarf ability. Now the hero won't lose mana if he can't jump.

Version 2.0b
- Now Soul Ward doesn't raise skelies from dead summoned units.
- Diablo car siege unit now is able to attack buildings.
- Changed attack type of Chaos Machine to siege.
- Chaotic Rage will no longer activate on buildings, mechanical units nor on allies. Now it also requires the upgrade to work.
- Chaotic Rage is now a tier 2 upgrade and costs more gold.
- Fixed Chaotic Rage ability, now it won't destroy shield for no reason.
- Remade the Chaotic Rage ability. Now it gives 1% chance to deal Chaos damage per 2% hp missing. It will also be a tier 2 upgrade.

- Updated Special Units internal library to make the map more stable.
- Added the black screen again. The prevents AI from acting stupid and allows players to synchronize at the start of the game.
- Chaotic Rage is now a tier 2 upgrade.
- Fixed the description of Chaotic Rage upgrade.
- Fixed an important exploit with Chaotic Rage, now it won't affect units that are not supposed to be affected and it will not affect buildings as well.
- Fixed Rider Devil's Speed upgrade, now it increases speed instead of taking it away.
- Made major spell checks to grammar in Chaos Orc race and Tavern heroes.
- Fixed some descriptions of heroes.
- Scaled the unit model of Chaos Rider Warchief hero.

- Finally, the Rider is now ready for his new Devil's Speed ability. This ability was finally added, and it is sure to make many fans happy. Added the remake of Devil's Speed (finally).
- Remade the description of the Chaos Orcs Race.
- Fixed the description of all upgrades from the Lumber Mill.
- Fixed the description of the Greave item.
- Removed Kodo's Vault. This makes part of a preparation for a new unit and strategy for this race.
- Removed Chaos Riderless Kodo, this unit was bogus and useless to the new main strategy of the race.
- Chaos Bestiary now trains Fel Orc Kodo.
- Now Fear Aura's buff corresponds to the buff of an aura.
- Added Myre to credits!
- Improved the README file a lot. Now you have more information about the credits there so you can research for your project =P

O guys, I need an opinion. I made many major inner changer in the map and remade lots of stuff. I have thing quite ready for version 2.0, however, if I release the new version now, the Chaos Orc race will not be totally remade, neither will the heroes.

This is what I changed so far:


Version 2.0
- Fixed a bug with the Ram Knoackback ability, now it won't fire on buildings, mechanical units, dead units and air units. Also improved the performance of the code.

So basically, I need to know: Do you want version 2.0 now, or do you prefer to wait (a lot) longer and to have a more complete 2.0?
 
Depends. If we wait more 1 month, perhaps, the lag will ne fixed?
Well, it looks that the lag problem has no real solution .... One way of reducing it is to increase the bases size, so this will help avoid some bugs from the AI (inner bugs from Blizzard, unfortunately ...). However I don't think a permanent solution will evever be found. To increase the size of the bases, I would have to make a dramatical remake of the terrain, mainly the castles (because I intend to move the bases to inside the castles). I cannot be sure how long it will take, but if I start making terrain, I will probably take a month, yes. Bad thing is that changing the terrain will be so time consuming, that I will probably have no time to evolve the races add naga and clean the bugs of the map.

Otherwise, you can release it soon, because the lag has more priority than minor flaws in a race.
Having in mind I am making a strong remake of the Chaos Orc race, I wouldn't consider it a minor race fix. If you see the change log, you can see the race suffered dramatical changes already, however, more are yet to come. I also removed one hero to save some space for a few models I need to import. The Chaos Orc race as you know, will never be the same again... and this includes their heroes.

Having in mind the upcoming new patch, the project lost many of it's main system ... I am working under a possible remake of some of them for 2.0b. However this also allowed to get rid of old code and now the project will be really easy and fast to update for the patch 1.23b.

Why 2.0a and not 2.0 ?
- The original idea for 2.0 would be to completely remake the Chaos Orcs and terrain. However I saw that was not possible and that it would take months to prepare, so I decided to launch preliminary versions of 2.0. In the end, 2.0 will have the entire Chaos Orc race changed, but the terrain however will be left for 3.0 maybe.

Income system? I am open to ideas. So far the income is realted to gold mines and killing enemy units (you earn gold by killing them!).
I am also thinking about some gold events but ... I still have a long road ahead...
To classic ?? please elaborate.

That would mean the user can have a level 15 hero ... This would force me to change all heroes (28 heroes + Tavern normal heroes) and I can't afford that when I have more stuff to do on the project.
I may considerate the option, but so far it is not in my priorities top list.

i found a possibly bug. if you chose high elfs and you kill all murlocs at the first point (fountaing) sylvanas wont be able to get to the ressurrection stone. shes too fat!:huh:
 
The game lags a little bit but not enough to make me quit playing this game but enough lag to make it noticeable.
This is due the heavy AI .... technically it is a Blizzard bug ... when a unit controlled by computer tries to build a construction, and if the area is occupied, the unit simply doesn't build and it waits ... after waiting a few seconds, the computer sends the same command to the unit ... in an infinite loop. Because bases are quite small, this tends to happen in large scale, thus creating the lag.
The only fix for this problem would be to have a different terrain, a decent one. Anachron said he would take care of it, but to be honest, I don't think he will ever make it...

I am remaking the entire race, it is normal to be a little unbalanced at first, specially if you only try to kill me with stupid ghouls that are food for skelies...
I already started balancing some units, now I will focus on some upgrades and on the Bestiary.
Btw, when can you start on the terrain?

Well, Version 2.0a has a lot of bugs fixed, it will be hard for you to find them, but I appreciate the effort.

Hey fire phoenix i just finshed playing CCFE with my bro, i played high elf and i chose dark mage as soon as i used dark phoenix my game crashed and i had a fatal error, i then used my bro's computer to see if the same thing would happend and it did...

MMm, I see the problem ... thing is DarkMage is the most unbalanced hero ever ... with the oldest spells as well (Made in GUI). I will fix that problem very soon, Thx for the report!

Btw, how was the Chaos Orcs race? I am currently paying more attention to that race now xD

I've played the chaos race as well i don't see anything wrong with them or overpowered.... but human race i found is very weak compared to the others.

i play it, here is that wat i see.

.- I play has the red orcs, and well its a really good made race, (Y) i see one thing, i have 15 workers in the trees, and i never can buy nothing, because i dont have suficient wood... is strange xD
.- The heros, i the dark gate summoner, i like it, but her last power is TOOOOO MUCH powerfull, because they create a lots of lots of flame guys...
ah, and i se a BUG =o xD when i am attaking the other castle, the hero stop doing the magic, but the guys keep there.
-.other hero ( i dont remenber the name ) i dont like her last power... i think is not significant, do nothing ...
-.The AI whell its OK, but keep working on it, because they dont attack... only create units xD ( dont too much anymode )
-. The wavers ( sho´p ) they need to be more expensibe, its a cool idea but if you have 3000, you cant do seriusly damage to the other castle...
-. when you win need to be at least 10 seconds before the " continue ; quit " menu...
-. when i press continue, the screen fade to black, and it was 5 mins ... i reset the PC... =/
-. Some times, have leaks and lag...
for example when some units summon anything, i experiment lags of 1 milisec. but its bad xD

well, i see more things but i dont remenber for now xD

You would have the same problem with normal orcs, both workers carry the same amount of wood, and the upgrades cost the same amount of wood ... except for the units, they cost more gold and less wood xD

Agreed. Which is why I removed his last power and transformed it into an item power for the race that can be bought in tier 3 shop =D
He now has another ultimate, Apocalypse, which fits the strategy of the hero better.
As for the bug, it is now fixed for 2.0b.

Maybe you re talking about the Dark Blademaster? I too thin his ultimate is weak...

Depends on the difficulty. In easy mode they don't attack. In normal they creep, and in insane .... let's just say that if you survive a melee game vs 4 melee in insane you are my new hero.... (really hard..)

No really, te units cost a lot...
Each unit has an average cost of 250 gold. Each spawn has an average cost of 225 gold.
It is not such a bug difference.

long time since ive played this map(my last dled vers was 1.6 or something...)
i was kinda happy when i read "finally with ai!" so i dled the new vers.
but well... your "sleeping worker" idea is really bad cause when i was playing 2v2(me+3 ai) my "mate" couldnt do much because his units tried to take som gold from MY goldmine(wrong targetting?) but when his workers arrived at my goldmine it was currently busy with one of my workers, so his workers fell all into sleep...so he managed to build barracks but he couldnt build a single soldier, not even a hero.
the ais on the opposite team were building enough units etc...but...well they didnt attack or something...just...well...sitting around and waiting for some enemies.

maybe u should work some more on the ai =/
otherwise, pretty good melee/aos kinda hybrid.(i just loooove the dark mage+ that elven archer riders)
btw: i can send u the replay if u want it

As for the AI ... i blame the terrain, it doesn't have enough space for bases so the AI steals all gold mines it cans... God I need a new terrain.

I am happy you like the High Elfs, but version 2.0 is focusing currently on the Chaos Orc race (you may want to have a look on that too xD).

im pleased with the highelves so i dont care lol =P
its pretty satisfying to hold a line alone just with the dark mage, his aoes/uber heals, his phoenix and the regurlar spawn.

Well, get ready Flame, I thought about making your terrain because I am bored at home, atleast this Weekend I have nothing to do, except visiting my girlfriend, making barbeque, girlfriend, ah did I say barbeqeue? :D Anyway.. I guess you helped me alot, thanks again for that. (Scripting / Other solutions in my RLIFE)

In version 2.0b, when I play today with chaos orc I found two little problems :
1. The rider can't move.
2.The riderless Kodo beast 's devour skill can't use.
I also think the item cost 800 gold (the last item in chaos orc shop) is too imba and can cause extremely lag (maybe it's just my comp and network).

Thanks for the extremely important report. For bugs 1 and 2, I will fix them for version 2.c, which will be released in 2 weeks.
By reporting these bugs you also made me discover other very important related bugs.

As for the item, Fiery Summon (I assume, the one that creates a start with a circle) I can always make it a little weaker. As for lag, I don't think it will cause much, at least it runs pretty well in my computer xD
 
Hey guys, I proudly inform of the new version of CCFE Beta 2.0c. In this new version I finally made some drastic changes in the Chaos Orcs that will reflect the new race's techtree. I also added a new ability to the Summoner which will make this hero a real pain for enemy summons and will provide the race with anti-summon magics, thus covering a serious deffice it has. I hope you all like the changes, I specially like the new Fel orc Rider ability, Devil's Speed, and I am sure you all will love it too.
