So I'm wondering if its possible to base wether a unit misses another unit on what animation is currently playing.

So for instance, if you have a model of a trooper ducking behind a piece of cover, and every time the trooper pops up to attack, it can be hit. But, while it's behind cover, (not playing the attack animation) all the incoming fire is a miss.

I don't want the units to not be able to fire at the ducking unit, I just want them to miss when the covering unit is not playing the attack animation.

So is this possible with triggers or code or something?
