In my current project, I'm trying to use flamestrike as a base ability for my grenade launcher, but it's become quite the headache
Problem 1: When I add a buff to the spell (Anything at all, could be dizziness, detected, ect...) The buff doesn't wear off any units that were effected by the ability like they should. Also, once hit by the ability, units can no longer use their own abilities (The animations and effects play but no damage is done).
Problem 2: Problem 1 causes all sorts of frustrations, so I just tried removing all buffs from the ability all together. However when I do that the damage of the ability goes through the roof, becoming a 1 hit kill on all targets. The ability is set to do 180 full damage with a maximum damage of 180, but it will destroy things with 20k hp after 1 hit. An added note: The ability does the correct amount of damage in the beginning, but then a buff appears on the target and then the target is instantly killed. If there's a way to make a dummy buff that does nothing at all (not even visual effects and wont show in the unit's buff bar that would solve this
