Pyramidhe@d: The thing should be sparks, not fire. Also, drawing little motion lines on the hammer is kind of childish. Think of a better way to show motion.

Looks very nice, but one thing the metal isn't really visible on the icon maybe you could make it a little bit more bright and glowing.

Indeed, the metal should be crystal white - as it's related that the heat of metal glows white when on intense temperatures.
Also, some yellowish glow in the back of the icon would be quite nice.

You noticed it by yourself:
No reflections from forging metal, effect is more blood than hot sparks, and forging metal dont muyst to be paralel to hammer strikes.

Okay, I made the forge piece lighter and removed the splat, how can I make the sparks better?
I also rotated the piece a bit.

Does the forge metal look good now?

EDIT: lol the size down makes it very blurry.

Make the most luminous part where the hammer hits the blade, to look like hot.
Try to improve the trail of the hammer.

We are still waiting for an improvement and I can bet that it would turn out nice. Just follow the concepts and comments of other users, while adding your own touch of style to it.

For the sparks, I suggest using a Paintbrush with red colouring to draw small lines bursting from the point the hammer hits. Then add a small bright yellow centre. The sparks should be a very bright yellow.
