Bots

As you all probably know by know, we have some bot related problems. Does anyone have an idea on how to stop them? I know the registration form uses CAPTCHA (completely automated public Turing test to tell computers and humans apart), but somehow, the bots hust have cracked it. How? It's supposed to stop them!

Well as TheNisse said in the other thread about vB, maybe if we switch to vB the bots might not be able to register because of us using a new forum software. Also I think Ralle told me something about the bots searching for phpbb forums and then posting in them, so a vB forum would probably also help because of that if I am correct.

vB? I only know of two VB's, Victorian Bitter, an Australian beer, and the programming language Visual BASIC, which I happen to know. Neither of those seem to fit.

well we could make a custom field so like a field where we want it to write the sentence "I am no bot"
cause I know bots will not be customized for mods but only plain phpbb forums
