I am reviewing version 2.1 of "Battle of the Rich and Poor", a map by water_Knight and insomnia80.
The map's objectives are not very clear, but according to one of the map makers -- which I had the pleasure to have present on my map testing crew -- revealed that the goal was to kill the other team's king.
This is a fact that is not present in the description, so it should be improved to clearly state what are the map's victory conditions.
You start with a ranger that can build a few structures. One of them is a Hall that allows the training of archers, which will help you fight the creeps. To successfully kill the other team's king, you'll have to build these constructions, along with Gold Mines and Wood Works which give you a set amount of resources each minute.
Speaking of time, the upper-right timer doesn't work.
I found the map to be original, somewhat. But I feel like it could have been even more original. For example, instead of having the rangers build (which is kind of silly, in my opinion) and shops in the middle of nothing, replace those things by "control points", which give resources to the players of the teams. Or, create a separate mode that features what I just said, to increase game diversity!
Another idea is to create some more heroes, and let the players choose which do they want.
The gameplay is not very interesting at moment. The main force (which also controls the king) sends a force now and then, and you might want to take advantage of that to push the line a little. Aside from that, I see a monotone and repetitive gameplay, allied to boring heroes and units.
Most of the abilities are not working correctly either.
The terrain was a little larger than what would seem recommendable, and it is clearly lacking on doodads.
I can only rate this a 2/5 (Lacking) and hope you'll improve. Since the creator plans to do so, I'll Approve this resource.
