Battle of the Dark Flame v 2.8

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Map Info
Gamplay,
In this map you play mostly like you do in a normal melee map, you build a base train units and such. The diference is what you do with your army that you have raised. You send your units into an arena. To give you a better understanding of this game i should mention that it is very like the game "King of the Hill".
The main unit in this game is the "Flame Controller" this unit is the key to you victory. You take him to the "Dark Flame" that is located in the middle of the map, and you use him to capture the flame by walking close to it. Protect it at all costs because soon you will claim victory.

In this map there is a total of five races that you can controll for Flame domination.
They are: Human, Orc, Night Elf, Undead and Naga. In later versions
more will come.

There are eight heroes in this map that is not specific to races but all can use them.

This is one of many maps that i "finished" (made playable) I am one of
those who enjoy developing ideas and starting new projects that i never seem to finish.
However here is a map that i made a while back and i have hosted it a few times. In
general everybody liked the idea but no one liked the map. So I decided to upload it here
to gain a better view in what i need to improve.

V2.8 First Uploaded version.

Minimum number of players are 4 but it's strongly sugested
to be more as this is alot more fun. Since you can ally other players you can give the
game another aspect of fun. The game doesn't take very long to play if you have some
experience in what to do and how to do it. If you don't like the map at first sight don't
just leave the game wait and see, try it out. As i said it doesn't take very long.

At the moment this map needs fixing, the gamplay works fine but i will try and do my best to make it more fun and appealing.

Well I checked your map and I must say that I am a little disappointed!
Idea:
Map is awesome or should I say "idea" but you created it somehow wrong, you will see below why
Map description:
Maybe you think that map description here on THW isn't important but thrust me, if you use 20 words to describe your map no one will want to play it, why, because we don't know anything about your map!
Add screenshots, write credit list, change log, map features, colorize description, add boxes etc etc...

Ingame description / Custom GI:
No Quest Log on 1st place, that means no credits, no command list, we can see anything about your map!
No single GI (Game Interface) change, grrrr
Only good things are hints, gj. for that
Heroes descriptions are very poor!
This tutorial is new but really awesome, I really like it and I am sure you will learn a lot from it!

Triggers:
Grrr you triggers are ok, I mean they do job, but they can be done in different way to reduce their size,
here is an example:
  • Unally p3 Copy
    • Events
      • Player - Player 2 (Blue) types a chat message containing -unally teal as An exact match
    • Conditions
    • Actions
      • Player - Make (Triggering player) treat Player 3 (Teal) as an Enemy
      • Trigger - Turn on Allies p3 Copy <gen>
Add all events for different players that want to be ally with Player Teal and trigger will work :D
If you ask how will then work that: Trigger - Turn on Allies p3 Copy <gen>: well create variable that will be defined each time when player write something in this case: -unally teal, In: Trigger - Turn on Allies p3 Copy <gen> use variable instead of Player 1 or 2 etc etc...

Why GUI, well I know Jass a little, I can understand but I can't explain it, so I posted only stuff that I can help you with!

Memory Leaks:
I find some memory leaks in your triggers, pls check links above you will understand what they are if you don't already know...
  • Capturingp1

How you used Import Manager:
I can see only map preview image imported, it is ok if you want to save space but at least make custom loading screen...
How you used Object Editor:
You just replaced abilities, units etc etc
It is really hard to find what you want...
This one is small problem but pro map maker should be well organized!
How you used Sound Editor:
Well you didn't used it ^^' and that is problem!
Gameplay:
I don't like gameplay at all, only few new heroes that have blizzard abilities (random, even icons aren't changed)
Few normal units, bad terrain, no game modes, no team play, just raw game!

And for the end my last words:
The Hive includes many talented Warcraft III modders of all skill levels among its users. New members (especially friendly ones) are always welcome. Take a look around and enjoy your stay, may it be long and productive!

Some good places to start include:
Searching the site using the above link always helps, you can learn a lot that way: just reading and learning is usually the best place to start, especially if one feels overwhelmed.

Likewise, the tutorials can really teach ALL of us a thing or two.
The chat room is cool: lots of people can answer questions there.

A few other tips that might help too:
-Always search first! Did I already mention THAT?
-When creating a new thread, make the title VERY specific: so the site's search engine (and we users) can easily understand just what the thread contains.
-Post your new threads in the proper forum: read the descriptions of each one so that you know what to post there.
-If all else fails, just send me a private message! I'll try to do whatever I can to help.

For new users:
If map isn't finished jet, use Map Development forum for that! You can make thread there upload your map so people can tell you what they think just like here! Also for any help with triggers or how to clean memory leaks post triggers and create threads here Triggers & Scripts! Btw if you need any help with WE we have World Editor Help Zone here on THW! And at the end if you need any resource from icons to loading screens check this out Requests!

I hope that my comment helps even a little so you can improve your map, if you want to know more, or just simple ask for something else I will try to help for sure!
