O

Ookami_Kei

I have spear wielding infantry in this map I'm iin the process of making, and I was wonder what would be a prudent melee attack range. I know that most melee units have it defaulted at 90, so I was thinking something of 120.

I am somewhat new to this and I dont know what kind of reach that gives me or even when we say range what it is measured in. Can someone tell me and maybe give me something that I could us to remember what each range unit repressents?

The best way to be able to visualize range is just constant trial and error until you can.

The best effect will always be achieved through eyeballing it and not estimating it, though.

And a range unit is a certain amount of a grid square, though I'm not sure exactly where they get the grid square measurements from (Small grid square = 32, Medium grid square = 128, Large grid square = 512).

Thank you for that, but I still would like to know if 120 is a good range for spearmen

Well I think 100 is the normal range, so seeing as how a spear is a little bit longer than your average sword, I'd say yes, it's a good range.
